My wife and stayed for a two day package with dinner, breakfast, theatre and boat cruise. We had a very nice time. The staff are amazingly friendly and check-in and check-out was very smooth. The rooms were spacious and clean. The theatre was very good and the boat cruise (2 hours, 30 minutes) was great. The restaurant was good and was right on the river with an excellent view. The town is very walkable and there are a few nice shops, but it was for the most part not very busy for high season. One could easily spend two days with one night and have a walk around time, a nice evening of dinner and theatre, and then take the cruise the next morning. We did not use the spa, nor did we golf, so I cannot comment on that.

We stayed for a weekend while visiting a friend in the area. We had a room that opened onto a lovely garden/lawn and overlooked the river. Absolutely idyllic. The room itself was spacious, well appointed and was complete with a pull out couch and a sink/bar/ mini fridge area. Very comfy beds, flat screen tvs and quiet. The included breakfast was complete, open menu and delicious. And service was excellent. We did not utilize any spa services so I cannot comment on that. But both the restaurant on the premises and the one across the street had great food, good service and music. Very enjoyable, restful and romantic. When you compare this high class inn to the mediocre motel 6 type of hotels elsewhere in town, this is really the only choice for quality and comfort.

Room Tip: ask for rooms facing the river, ground floor is best.

My husband and I wanted a quiet romantic getaway. Having booked our getaway based solely on what I saw online, I realized that we may be disappointed. BUT WE WERE NOT! The grounds are beautiful and wonderfully kept. Just outside our room in the annex was a beautiful garden complete with what Lucy at the front desk called the "babbling brook". Our adirondack chairs outside our room were right in front of said brook - so relaxing! The staff is friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included with our stay and was lovely. We didn't have dinner at the Inn, but did enjoy a dessert one night - deep fried ice cream - devine ! If you are looking for a quiet relaxed romantic getaway, this is the place for you.

Room Tip: Most suggest a room facing the water, however I felt that the rooms facing the garden in the annex w...

If you stay on a Sunday or Monday and expect spa services, you are SOL. The spa is closed those days. Neither the web site nor on-site literature mentions this crucial fact. I am extremely disappointed in that.

The restaurant has a limited menu, with good quality food, but the kitchen is awfully slow in service.

Otherwise, the location and view are quite good.

Thank-you for your comments. We do appreciate your feedback. Our Spa Package page on our website does indicate that guests should make appointments before arrival to assure their preferred time/date. Our hours of operation are dictated by demand. We are open Tuesday to Saturday and some Mondays. We find Sunday is a travel day for most guests. We are constantly re-visiting this issue as demand tends to change. Perhaps next time you return we can find a suitable compromise. Thank-you again for your time.

My wife and I stayed in the Cedar Knoll suite for a wedding. The Inn itself is marvelous! Right on the water it boasts spectacular views and unparalleled access to many attractions the area has to offer. A storied past has left the Inn feeling quaint and homey with that old world charm. Pricing is on par with other establishments in the area and for the quality of room and included breakfast I'd rank it high on the value per dollar when compared country wide. The only detracting factor I can name was not something that directly affected me, although it left a sour taste in my mouth all the same. The front desk staff were quite flippant with many of the guests staying at the Inn for the wedding, on the actual wedding day. It appeared they were more of a hassle than they were worth. I say this from the vantage point of a person sitting in the lobby reading a paper as guests were arriving seeking directions to the ceremony. As stated, I didn't experience this obtuse attitude first hand, but was on the verge of giving the staff a stern lecture regarding hospitality. All in all, I would recommend this establishment to others seeking a relaxedness romantic getaway. Certaintly less than ideal from a business stand point. In room WiFi never did work even after repeated calls to the front and attempts at rectification. Personally I'm on the fence as to another visit due to the staff. I can only hope it was a one off experience.

Thank you for taking time to comment. On the morning of which you speak our Front Desk staff was dealing with 100 guests checking out before 11 am. At the same time wedding guests were attempting to check in hours before 3 pm. We do need time to clean the rooms. As this was a morning wedding other guests were asking directions. Our staff member was courteous and efficient as she dealt with all request as quickly as possible. The bride and groom let us know they had a fabulous wedding day!
We offer the best WIFI service that is available given our rural location.

We had a very hot (weather-wise, not skill-wise) round of golf at Smuggler's Glen and then took the short drive into Gananoque to stay at the Gan Inn and Spa. This is the third year we've enjoyed the Inn. Great food, wonderful service and a fantastic location. We brought along two other couples and they were impressed as well.

Room Tip: the Annex rooms are very nice
