Dined at the restaurant on a Saturday. We opted for their large patio since the weather was really nice. The waterfront view is great and the atmosphere both inviting and relaxing. The food was good, but not excellent. If you visit Gananoque, why not book some time at this historic Inn and use its as your home base to walk around to most attractions the town has to offer.

Thank you for your review and for choosing to stay with us! Other travelers might like to know that we have two waterfront restaurants. Muskie Jake's Tap and Grill has casual fare but Watermark Restaurant provides fine dining.

The Inn and Spa has been beautifully redone. It retains the charm and history of its roots and recalls a time when this was the playground for the titans of business and rich and famous. Yet the Inn has the amenities of a modern hotel. The fact they serve a hot breakfast (try the Eggs Benedict) is a wonderful touch.
The staff were always friendly and helpful and when we needed extra coffee for example for the room - there was no additional charge. Try that at many hotels.
This Inn is near the centre of everything - the boat docks for the tours are just across a small bridge - there are a variety of parks, eating places and bars within easy walking distance and the downtown core is a 10 minute walk at most. We visited a number of attractions, ate at several places off the Inn property and saw a concert in the central town park - and the car never moved from the parking lot for three days.

Excellent location, close to all. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast is pretty good but staff very inexperienced in even the basics of waiting tables (eg, guests need cutlery, cream for coffee and spoons). Cannot have windows open in rooms due to bugs so you need to use the air conditioner.

I was really impressed with this hotel. Our room, The Prime Minister's Suite, was large, clean and with a great view, the bathroom had a large jacuzzi and shower. The food at both restaurants was good and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We were on a family vacation but this would be a great romantic getaway.

Room Tip: I recommend the Prime Minister's Suite, it has a large bathroom with shower and jacuzzi and two...

WE stayed for 2 nights in late June in the Caverly House for our wedding anniversary. To our surprise, on arrival we were greeted with a lovely note and bottle of champagne!! We had pre-ordered a cheese plate which was also present for our arrival. The room was very clean and looked well maintained. The room is a suite with a jacuzzi which was a nice touch. We were only attached to one other room and it was very quiet and I certainly could not hear the other tenants.

The hotel is located right by the water front with very nice scenery. We took a couple of walks along the water which was very nice and scenic, especially in the morning and at sunset.

The service from all staff was awesome. Breakfast was included with our room which was also very nice. We also ate at restaurants with the hotel and the food was very reasonable and the service was also excellent.

The furniture is a bit dated but the space is very nice. I would strongly suggest to management to upgrade the television to flat screen LCD's and think of putting an additional LCD in the sitting room. This would really round out the otherwise excellent space and make the price very competitive.

Overall, I would recommended this place and I would stay there again.

Room Tip: The rooms in the main part of the hotel are likely very different from the Caverly House. consider...

Thank you for your review and your positive comments! We are glad that you had the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful sunrise and sunset. As part of our green policy we decided some years ago to replace only non-functioning electronic equipment. In keeping with the age of the inn our furniture choices through out have been traditional in nature.

We experienced excellent service while staying at the Gananoque Inn- our check in and check out were fast, and when we needed help in our room they were quick to arrive. We also requested help with the nearby bike trails, and the front desk lady made a point of coming out to the parking lot with additional printed information for us... this was more than we asked for, and very thoughtful.
The view of the water and the gardens/property are gorgeous. There are beautiful flowers everywhere. We took the very short walk down the street to the Gananoque Boat Cruise Line, and enjoyed a 1000 island cruise.
We both slept extremely well both nights... we found the beds and bedding very comfortable, and the room to be quiet. The decor is dated, but the rooms are kept very clean, and we had no complaints. We liked that there were lots of towels and that the bath products were from Bath and Body Works.
We ate the breakfast (included in our rate) both days, and it was good. Dinner in the pub was fine too.
We enjoyed our stay, and would go back.

Room Tip: There is no swimming pool or fitness centre.
