Howe Island is really an island, reachable only via ferries. Also, it is very near Gananoque, Ontario, a delightful town on the St. Lawrence river (site of the "Cottage" river tours) and Kingston, a moderate sized city to the west. Now, as to the Howe Island B&B, don't miss it as Dave and Wendy, the owners have established a very pleasant, delightful establishment. Sitting right on the St. Lawrence, the view is extraordinary as are the varied gardens that accompany the B&B. My wife and I, celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary, spent two nights in the cottage on the property, as opposed to staying in the main lodge, The morning breakfasts were complete with interesting fare, the quality of the preparations being above par as was the service. Dave, in the short absence of Wendy, carried himself with confidence. acting as the host. The Howe Island B&B is special. Don't miss it when in Ontario, CA.
