My husband and I wanted to take a break. Our goal - short trip from Toronto, near water (kayaking) and cycling trails. Our travel research ended us up at 1000 Island Condo Getaway. Positives - location - Great!!!! Cycling, water sports , walking to small sleepy town - most definitely great! The unit itself isn't really a condo. I would say a more like a large hotel room as there was only a microwave, coffee maker (old style with no auto shut off), plates, cups, etc. The furniture was mis-matched and well worn, shredded sides and stains. I think some of the furniture was original to the original owner (not sure how long ago that would be). The carpet also needed some care. Dirty looking and stained. The 'main bedroom' appeared to be newly painted. Ventilation good with multiple windows. The bathroom large but no shelving or counter space. Lighting mainly overhead - table lamps would have been good in the main room. The second bedroom - not private - the separation was a movable trifold screen. There was also an undraped window on one side. The space for two people was good. If you can't do stairs there were at least 15 to go up. The balcony on front is not welcoming and looks as though it may collapse. The BBQ needs a bit more attention as does the basic cleaning inside - dusting, removing broken glass containers, broken cutlery, etc.
For the price the space good but the amenities and the condition …. I may consider elsewhere for the price. On a last note the operators were friendly . We had to pick the key up at the jewellery shop in town (3 min drive away).
