We went to this establishment early July 2011 because it was right beside our hotel (Holiday Inn Express) and had an outside seating area, as it was a lovely evening. The waitress was very attentive and friendly, took our order and brought our drinks out very quickly. The food also arrived promptly and was very tasty and enjoyed by all. I recall that the menu was quite basic but was more than adequate for us on that particular evening.
Just as we arrived an entertainer was starting his act. He was a great singer, and played the guitar with backing music. He took requests and sang songs from several eras and artists but, in our opinion excelled at Springsteen. He also brought props into the act which enhanced the enjoyment and also let some diners sing a couple of songs (they were also very good). We returned to our hotel just after dusk and before the act was due to end. Just one word of warning - we sat outside in the dark for around 15mins before we left and that was sufficient time for the mosquitoes to bite us a few dozen times and leave a lasting memory on us of Gananoque. If we decide to sit outside again in this area, we would certainly retire inside before it gets dark.

We go for wing night on Tuesdays. The Thai and hot wings are excellent. Service is great under the new management. Beer is cheap and you can smoke on patio unlike every place in Kingston. Our friends love it too.

We have been going to Good Time Charlies restaurant off and on for about ten years. It had been 'okay', nothing special but a good place to meet while having a meal.
We were there yesterday and were very disappointed by how dirty things were. The chairs had what looked like construction dust/debris, the table legs were dirty, and the carpeted flooring was also dirty.
The washroom, which was always clean in the past was very dirty. The garbage can was overflowing.
This was in the morning for a breakfast outing, so there is no excusing things being dirty, especially considering it is not a 24 hr restaurant.
We may not return.
Gananoque is a summer tourist location and although most of Charlies' clients are from the adjoining Best Western, and 'passing through', the presentation to the general public is not very favourable.
Tourism as well as local dollars are tight these days, and it would serve Charlies well to address these concerns, for their own sake.

When we first entered the restaurant there was immediately a strange cheesy smell. Also the owner was vacuuming near the entranceway and we had to walk around it. Our waitress was wonderful and that's the only reason we chose to stay. The decor had a bit of an identity crisis. It appeared to be a western theme but there was also east indian religious paintings and fabrics draping the walls. We ordered Chicken Carbonara, Chicken Fettucine and 1 order of wings. The pasta seemed to be cooked okay but both dishes seemed to have exactly the same sauce and didn't taste fresh. The wings were not too bad. My husband said the beer tasted cold and refreshing. Overall it was the atmosphere that made it a less than pleasant experience.
