“Exactly what we needed”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

After an afternoon of kayaking the thousand islands, we were looking for a delicious substantial meal, and the Stonewater Pub delivered in spades! We had dietary restrictions which made meal selection challenging: one of us avoiding dairy, and the other looking for a vegan meal. Irish meatloaf (bacon-wrapped!) satisfied the former, and a special tofu-vegetable coconut curry was a delightful spicy vegan surprise. Both dishes were enormous (full head of cauliflower and broccoli in the curry!?) and delicious. We both surprised ourselves by finishing our dishes.

The only thing that somewhat spoiled the experience was that we ate in the bar (the dining room was full) which would have been just fine, except for an obviously drunk, loud, everybody's-new-best-friend bar patron who was bothering the other bar diners. I can't really fault the staff for his behaviour, but that was our experience.

“Good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Looking for a place for a quick lunch before the play, we decided to check out this pub. We enjoyed our salad and came back for dinner. The server was excellent at getting us our lunch in time for the play. The pear salad was a generous portion and the maple dressing was excellent. There are many choices for gluten free and the restaurant was willing to make another item gluten free. This was much appreciated. The restaurant is small so you may want to reserve or eat early or late. The screened in porch has a great view. Overall, a good choice for a pre or post play meal.

“Enjoyable experience”

I live in this town and apparently do not frequent local restaurants enough. This one was great, atmosphere, service and food. Only limited seating on porch

“Good Service, Good Food, Good views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014

Screened-in porch has limited seating, so reservations are recommended. Nice harbor view, pleasant breeze. Food was quite good, above average for a pub setting. Service was friendly and timely. Good overall value, and a great choice for lunch or late afternoon drinks. A much better choice than the pub at the Gananoque Inn that sits across the street. Lunch for two with a glass of wine runs about $50C.
