“All Around Disappointment”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

We arrived in the pouring rain on a motorcycle trip to find there was an error with our booking.com reservation which had been made for the next day. With booking.com you pay the hotel and since they had room and advised they would help to correct the problem The easy solution would simply be to move the reservation but the desk clerk was adamant they could not do that because booking.com would charge them fee's. I explained the cancellation fee's with booking.com are on the hotel, not booking and that they were in full control of whatever fee's got charged to me. Suddenly we had communication issues since I only speak english. In the end they gave me the same room for $50 more than the booking.com price and advised I would need to call booking.com about cancelling the next days reservation. Booking.com had to contact the hotel as they as I explained were in charge of any cancellation fee's. In the end the hotel agreed not to charge me a cancellation fee and shortly after when I passed through the lobby the clerk let me know the good news that booking.com was going to cancel my reservation free of charge. So in the end the hotel managed to get my stay for an extra $50 and avoid paying booking.com their commission.

The room was a corner room about 12 feet from the road with no a/c so we had to sleep with the windows open and cars rolling by about 12 feet from our window. The room was clean but exceptionally dated. Yes you can see Perce rock from the hotel but that was about it's only redeeming quality. Wifi was basically unusable.

Really not worth the money and should be a 2 star, not 3. No elevator, no help with luggage. The view is great and that's it. The soap is tiny, the shampoo is smaller than a ketchup bag! Haven't seen a tv that smal since the sixties. Very disappointing for the monies paid. I would NOT recommend this place to. Anyone!

nice little seaside hotel/motel... needs a bit of an update, but overall it was a nice, no frills, comfortable room. Nice location, friendly, helpful staff... you can see the Perce Rock from your room!

The position is stunningly beautiful. The people on the desk are friendly. They perfectly organized all the tours in the Bonaventure Island and for whales search. .
And in addition, the restaurant is offering the best seafood you can find in Gaspesie.

I have stayed in the Manoir three times now. I had room 140 which is on the upper corner and has windows overlooking Perce Rock on two sides. The rooms themselves are nothing to write home about. A basic motel room. The meal plan that we took was really quite good, included breakfast and a very nice dinner in their dining room. This was the first time we had taken the meal plan and it was well worth it.
The whale watching was interesting as we saw several invisible whales. Their tails were incredibly large and invisible (as you might expect). The boat ride was rough and a few kids got sick but hey, it's the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
The views from the mountain behind the motel were incredible and worth the rough drive up (or you could hike.)

Room Tip: Upper rooms have the best view if you don't mind lugging your bags up there. Room 140 has best...

Frankly, nothing bad at this hotel. Yes, it's more expensive than most Hotel, put where in Percé, hum?

The employees offer a great service, like a 5 stars hotel.

The restaurant is a 3 diamonds CAA/AAA. i think that the manager/owner is TOO PROUD about that. Yes, the 5 service supper is great. But definitely, my girlfriend and I where not a the good spot: it's definitely a too classy restaurant.

One bad point: it's VERY close to the Percé touristic area; if you want to come back to your motel when you too drunk, it's ok, but not if you want to enjoy a great night.
I have to say that we DID NOT heard anything from our neighbors: sound isolation is A+.

Room Tip: Great hotel, great restaurant: expensive. Perfect service, like a real hotel. Ideal for old couple...
