“Ski in - ski out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 March 2014 via mobile

Great location of this nice 2 bed rooms apartment with nice living room-dining room-kitchen and 2 bathrooms. When traveling with my family I prefer to have separate sleeping area so everybody sleep fine, especially when skiing is the main goal of the vacations. Having a kitchen is perfect with children to avoid going to the restaurant everyday!
Hotel with great swimming pool and gym.
Hotel with great location as it is at the bottom of the skiing slopes. No need of a car! A must for us!

The staff were friendly and great to kids, and I love that pets were allowed, they should not advertise that wifi is available as it was down a lot more than up, I had to hotspot my phone to write this review, very very frustrating, they have the bare minimum of channels and horrible tv's, As well as the carpets are quite stained and run down, not really worth the money with these issues, it is busy because of the location, if the location was somewhere else I doubt that they would stay this busy, this is our second time staying here and it is quite run down from our first time, we still have three days and will have to make do

Thank you for posting this review.

We appreciate your feedback and want to update you with some of our future project. We will be making some changes to our guest rooms with new carpets and living room furniture as well as upgrading our WIFI so that we can alleviate these hot spot issues. Mechanical rooms and concrete floors can cause WIFI to be spotty in a few of our rooms and with the upgrades to this system those issue will be gone.

We are glad you and your family including your pet enjoyed our service and we look forward to welcoming you back again.

Thank you,

Stayed here for a weekend after Christmas with my husband. Location is great and the price was reasonable to stay there (we had a livingsocial voucher). We had a little kitchenette which proved to be really useful for breakfasts and lunches. The room was spacious enough, with a separate living area/couch/tv and bedroom that you could have four people in there comfortably.
They have lockers for you to store your ski equipment and there is underground parking (we didn't pay extra). There is also free wifi available.

The front staff seemed a little disorganized but they were pleasant. We had lift tickets arranged through this voucher, and there seemed to be some confusion when we tried to get the tickets from customer service. The front desk was blaming the customer service for not sending in the tickets, and customer service was saying that the front desk had to fax over some forms/paperwork to them. Anyways, it was all sorted out in the end.

Have stayed here both summer and winter and on both times enjoyed the stay. In winter we had a view overlooking the ski hill. We used to either eat our lunch in the Stemwinder (bar/restaurant at the base) or in our room where we could watch the skiers whilst we ate our soup and sandwich! In the summer we had a view overlooking the Purcell Mountains and had some amazing sun rises. The rooms are well equipped with kitchen, seating area and desk/chair and a gas fire which we enjoyed summer and winter!
The location is great for downhill skiing, maybe 30 meters from the main chair lift; and the Nordic Centre was just 5 minute’s drive; we played all three courses in the summer; Bootleg Gap Golf Course, Kimberley and Trickle Creek and all three were just a short drive away. The pools and hot tub are ideal for relaxing at the end of a perfect day in and around Kimberley.

We stayed at the Lodge from January 24 to January 26. Stayed at one bedroom suite - one king (very comfy) and a pull-out bed. Kitchen was ok with plenty of pans, dishes and cutlery.
The place is oriented on people cooking their own breakfast, so, there are only to corners where you can buy limited variety of items. No such thing as buffet.
There was 30 meters from the building entrance to the ski lift - truly ski-in ski-out. Very convenient. There's an underground heated parking but no place to wash your car.
So, it was all awesome until my wife slipped and fell in a locker area where we kept our ski. She landed on her bum (she has a huge bruise now) and her head was within centimeters from a wood bench. Later our friend's son and another teenager slipped and fell in the same area. I went to reception to report it and got a response that someone would be there shortly to wipe the floor. This one incident changer our mood completely. Costs of buying rubberized rags is not that high. I am genuinely confused why they do not have them in the locker area. They most definitely have a very good insurance...

Sorry to hear this and we have never had this issue in the past as the linoleum in the locker area
is "non slip" flooring and we have mats down any place throughout the lobby and entrances that can be slippery. However, it is not a problem to add some mats to prevent this from ever happening again and thank you very much for bringing it to our attention.

We stayed at this hotel before and decided to try it one more time. Much better this time around. The front staff (Sarah) was great and very helpful. Stayed in one bdrm suite. Was spacious, beds comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed. Balcony over looked ski hill. The ski in ski out was awesome. The only negative is it really needs new rugs and sofa.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing ski hill.

The Trickle Creek Lodge has absolutely the best location for skiing at Kimberley, being situated right at the bottom of the main chairlift. They have some newer competition now, but nobody could ever build any closer for ski-in, ski-out accommodation. I have been here several times, as Kimberley is my favorite ski area, and have always enjoyed this hotel. I haven't tried the others, but why bother when the location here is perfect and the hotel just fine. The dated looking appliances in the full suites are the only things that give away the age of the place, which has aged well. (There was a tear in the carpet, but I was assured the carpets are up for replacement in the near future. There was a leak in the kitchen sink faucet, and sticking toilet, which the front desk promptly took note of.) Service was excellent, including a call from the front desk to ensure all was well. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, except that there is a large armoire in the bedroom which is too big for the room, making for a tight squeeze around the beds. Dining is convenient, with Montana's Cookhouse in the hotel and the Stemwinder Bar and Grill in the next door day lodge. Other than that, you need to go downtown, which isn't that easy or cheap, as there is infrequent shuttle service. There are hot tubs and fitness area if you are inclined. The official star rating of 4.5 may be just a touch high, but I don't know where Trip Advisor gets its 3 stars from. I recommend the Trickle Creek and will definitely keep coming back.

Thank you for your review on TripAdvisor. We appreciate your feedback and always look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel.

The Trickle Creek Lodge is a true ski-in-ski-out property and yes no one can be as close as we are to the slopes. We will be starting our upgrades this year and we are sure you will find them to be very positive. We have a passionate team that takes pride in their jobs and goes the extra mile to keep the rooms and common spaces looking great.
