“awful choice for a hotel”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

we get there, and to start with they give us the wrong paper work to sign. we finally get up the single elevator to find our room, room doesn't look bad, but the fan in the bathroom is very very loud, thin walls, the bed was horrible to sleep on, the bottom sheet was too small for the king size bed, tried to sleep on the sofa bed, that had no sheets, there was no one at the front desk after 9 PM, the Wifi was laughable, didn't really work

Room Tip: go to a different hotel

Thank you for taking time to post your review on TripAdvisor about your recent stay. It is unfortunate that you were disappointed with your room while staying with us. I have addressed your concerns with the other departments and they are working on resolving these problems so that they don't happen again. Please feel free to contact me directly so I can get the room number that you stayed in so that maintenance and IT can look into the fan issue and WIFI problem.

While we were at the hotel for a wedding, which was done in spectacular fashion, this review is about the stay and the room. From the check in to the check out, nothing was done correctly. They "crossed wires somewhere" as we were told on the check in when they didn't have us booked for our arrival night. But somehow they managed to get us into our two bedroom sweet as originally booked. The absolute unforgivable "mistake" was them having us leaving a day early than we were supposed to and being told our room was taken by someone else and would have to leave. Choice words were had, let me assure you. The wifi was so slow, that it was literally unusable and the room was really not quite up to the standards expected. The front desk does not answer calls, there is no room service and there are actual "square" televisions in the room. We actually had to request room cleaning and fresh towels in person after the second day in a row of not having said services. Luckily we were given a group rate of $215 per night due to the wedding, but I would not pay full price, ever. Unfortunate to say the least.

Wonderful property. Stayed in summer. Gorgeous surroundings, pool, room. Very very nice. Clean clean! Very well insulated between rooms. No noise heard! Loved the outdoor pool and hot tubs. Perfectly relaxing!

Room Tip: The one bedroom suite was very well priced and gorgeous!

It was a long drive from Portland to Kimberley, but it was beautiful and well worth it for one of my dear friend's wedding. Aside from a hiccup during the check in process, once we were settled into our room we thoroughly enjoyed it. The balcony had a great view of the chairlift and the wifi was strong. The television came with many different channels and overall, the room was very clean with a very comfortable bed. Most of all, the lodge did a wonderful job with the wedding. The view from the top of the mountain was beautiful and we were very thankful to the staff for helping out with the chair lifts and later helping with the reception. The food was awesome and they could not have done a better job. If I'm ever up in that neck of the woods again, Trickle Creek Lodge will definitely be on my radar. I might have to try the winter sometime!

Great value for the rooms... Nice to have a full kitchen especially for extended stays... Went to have breakfast in the morning and was totally unimpressed. The girls were not ready, watched other customers leave because of this (people have schedules in the morning) and they didn't seem to show respect to customers. Other wise other staff in the hotel were amazing... Especially the night security and rooms were great.

A mediocre hotel room can be saved by providing the visitor space. Our room was fine, with kitchen and a balcony and a large bathroom. But the nicest feature is a separate room with its own television and a sink, so that friends travelling together can have their own space to enjoy some private time.

The reception was helpful. The surrounding was great for hiking or walks, though the hotel is not located near any coffee shop and the morning catering nook was ordinary - boring muffins and urn coffees. For gourmet or more eccentric dining, one needs to drive downtown.

Room Tip: Rooms can have either mountain view or "city" view. Both are charming. Elevator is very sl...

We wanted to experience a stay at this lodge, since it was recently built and in an area that is under development of upscale cabins and close to the ski hill. There are a few areas that they will need to improve in order to warrant the daily rate, such as only one elevator for 80 rooms (long wait), cheap towels and only two in the bathroom, which is only sufficient for one person, inadequate utensils in the kitchen, if one wants to fry an egg, cook hot oatmeal, etc. The restaurant Montana was a great disappointment, when we arrived at the restaurant, around 7:00pm we were told that it will take up to 45 minutes to be served - although the restaurant was less than half full. After we got our meal they made an announcement that certain items on the menu could no longer be served as they had run out of those particular food items.
The staff at the reception was pleasant, willing to help and efficient. The room service had not arrived by 2:00pm.

Room Tip: Don't eat at the hotel - Montana Restaurant, there are better and cheaper restaurants in Kimberl...
