This trip between the two banks was fantastic in the summer heat.
You feel the wideness of the St-Lawrence in the coolness of the river.
You pass l’Ile aux Lièvres, count 1 hour and a half on board (fast food lounge available)

As suggested on the website, we arrived 90 minutes in advance of our 11:15 departure and glad we did as the lanes filled up very quickly. It looked as if some cars were left behind as we loaded. There are lots of interesting things to explore while waiting to load including a long pier to walk along, a little gift shop, a cafe, an information building and more. The ferry crossing was very smooth with seating inside and out. Pay your fees on the boat as soon as you get on and enjoy the ride.

We had been in Tadoussac while on vacation and driving to Fundy National Park in New Brunswich next. We decided to save some hours of driving by taking the ferry. We arrived a few hours early to insure a spot. We filled our time with eating breakfast, cleaning the car (there are garbage cans along the waiting line) and searching for seaglass and shells along the shoreline. We had our car, a pop up tent camper plus 6 passengers. When they told us the rate for the car and trailer we thought it wasn't too bad. But, when we got on the ferry we found out we had to pay additional for each person. It was about C$170. After the sticker shock my husband realized our youngest was free (under 5 are free) and we asked for a refund for him. The trip was about an hour and we did see some seals. They had a little play room for the kids to pass the time, wifi and nice seating area. There is a restaurant but we didn't eat there. It did cut about 5 hours from our trip but it was about the same price we paid for all 6 of us to go on a whale watching cruise for three hours in Tadousac.

Very comfortable and clean. Good food on board. Nice view on the ST-Laurence river, you can see a lots of seals and many other species, if you are lucky you might see whales. It takes only 75 minutes to arrive at St-Simeon instead of 4 hours if you ga by car passing by Quebec City so you can relax on the Ferry. The boat is passing near by many isles.
