A wonderful mid island stop. Updated rooms. Great place for young families, extended families, etc. beach is awesome and with tidal influences.. You can actually have a pleasant ocean swim. Close to several nice restaurants and a convenience store. Across the road and to the left there is a lovely trail to walk...keep going and you will reach the city centre. Suitable accommodation for long stays in off season... With reasonable rates

Our small family recently spent 4 beautiful days at the Shorewater Resort in the most beautiful place on earth. The beach front location is perfect for beach walks and swimming. We viewed bald eagles, seals, deer, and many other beachcombing finds.
Each room faces Qualicum Beach which is four kilometers of curving, postcard-perfect sand.
Loved it and highly recommend you stay a few nights at the Shorewater Resort on your Vancouver Island vacation.

Room Tip: 207 and 208 is where we stayed. Modern and clean rooms.

We spent one night at Shorewater Resort and would have loved to stay longer but our trip didn't allow this. The apartments are spacious and have the most amazing views. I think these may be timeshare properties or privatey owned? There were 6 of us and we all have different style apartment. Ours even had large pebbles in the wall in the apartment! The facilities on the rooms were great and the bedrooms are on a raise area. The sunsets are stunning. The lady on reception was very helpful (sorry, can't remember her name but she had only ben there two weeks) - great welcome and advice of where to eat. Oh to go back soon???

Room Tip: Take the top floor rooms if they are available

We stayed at the Shorewater Resort for a weekend in April. Our room was right on the beach, clean, spacious and quiet, also with a kitchen with necessary items. We were able to walk to the nearby restaurants (one along the beach, and one across the street). Also a short drive to town.

After checking out, on the way home, we realized we left some valuables in the room. We called the resort. Our items were found and arrangements were made to get them back to us in Vancouver. We were very grateful to received them safe and sound.

We would stay at the Shorewater Resort again.

My wife and I stayed here for a week in September. I believe that this was our fourth visit. We normally like to have minimal maid service so that we can plan each day as it comes along. If the weather is good we'll go wander the beach. Colder weather means we stay in with a book and a glass of wine. This is the perfect place for that kind of holiday. From what I understand, each unit is privately owned and they are managed by a management company. Some of the units also appear to have their owners here on a full time basis. Each unit is slightly different but they all have had full kitchens that are adequately stocked with pots, pans and dishes. Everything worked well and we had a good time. A few minor negatives keeps this place from getting an excellent review. We stayed in a ground floor unit with a Murphy bed (wall bed). It gave us more room during the day after we had made up the bed and folded it back up but it just wasn't very comfortable. I'm sure that it was as good as a bed of this design can be, just not what we were used to. Also, the housekeeping staff wanted to do a full clean and towel and sheet change for us halfway through our stay. Fine, just let us know when and we'll disappear for a day so that you can do your thing. Well, we left before they started on the agreed upon morning and got back a little after 2PM to discover that nothing had been done. They were very apologetic about it and explained that there had been a few checkouts that day but it was still annoying. They offered to do it the next day but we decided to just let it stay the way it was. We'd been taking out our own garbage and recycling anyway since its not that hard. We also discovered once we got home that we'd been charged an extra $50 over the weekly rate that we'd booked because we were put into a ground floor "fireplace" room instead of a ground floor room. Not much difference really but the fireplace was a home improvement store type electric one. At $50 a week it has been paid for a long time ago. Still, the good greatly outweighs the bad. I'd go back.

This is an attractive and comfortable place to stay. The rooms face the ocean, with lovely sunrise views, beach combing, making for a peaceful and restful stay. We would have gladly stayed longer if we hadn't booked accomodations ahead of time.
