On two occasions now a group of at least ten friends that I hike with, and myself, have dropped in without previous notification at the Sandbar cafe. Both times we have had very friendly service, plus really good food. Nothing exotic, soups and sandwiches, excellent fish and chips, early evening hot meals at really great prices. Just an ordinary cafe that offers very good quality food at very good prices. An interesting addition to the cafe is the extensive amount of art that hangs on the walls. The artwork is all for sale and makes for great conversation pieces.

My wife and I have been here 13 years and in that time hard month goes by that we don't drive the 15kms up to enjoy a meal. We have been joined by many friends and everyone has always commented on the generous portioned home styled cooked meal. The staff are very casual locals that always remember you and greet you warmly, service is as prompt as the ladies in the kitchen can process it, if they are crowded you have to be patient. The restaurant itself is old and tired, needs a good redo, carpets, window coverings have been in place for as long as we've been going there and always need cleaning. The thing that stands out aside from the Art Gallery works on the walls are the number of local folks that keep coming back, good food, ample servings, value for your buck.

Warm and inviting atmosphere. Many people recommended it. I was very disappointed with my food, but may that was an "off day." On the ocean. Art (by local artists) is worth seeing.

This a small but nice place to go for a coffee and homemade muffins that are delious. It is different, as it sells local Artists works of art, that are displayed on the walls. The food there is good, as you can have meals there also.
