Comfortable room with impressive shower, very clean, new décor. Home made baking provided for breakfast - well stocked fridge with plenty of choice. Friendly hostess - her first season. Very near to Whiffin spit - good for an evening stroll. Internet access readily available. Space for parking. Hot tub available though didn't try it - good view of the bay from the tub.

We arrived in Sooke with no accommodation booked. The tourist office suggested that Salty Towers might suit my criteria - clean, modern with good Internet access.

The cabin was delightfully presented with plenty room to do all of the things we wanted. The Internet was fast. As a bonus we could easily walked to the front of the property and then along the beach to the end of Whiffen Spit. We were also permitted to walk out on their own jetty, which was fun as we were able to watch the seals nearby.

Our hosts were delightful. I thought it was self catering, but was delighted to find that the fridge had lots of lovely supplies... More than enough for our 2 day stay. We were also provided with a lovely baked egg dish, a bit like a frittata, complete with recipe. I kept the recipe as a memento of this little part of Canada.

This would be one of my more memorable places that I have stayed.

I just read the 2 poor reviews on here and it's unfortunate as the B&B has been under new management since December 2012. We had a wonderful stay and the owners are very nice people who were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed having breakfast food in our suite as we were not only able to have breakfast but snack on fruit, yogurt, and muffins throughout the day. This place beats a hotel hands down!

This is a great place to stay when in Sooke. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. It is located right on the ocean so the view was great. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Its a great base of operations if your going on a salmon fishing trip. The fishing grounds are 5 minutes from were you are staying! Next time i am in Sooke this is were ill be staying!

Room Tip: Try and book your Salmon trip with one of the guides that dock there boat at the B&B

Salty Towers was a great romantic get away for my boyfriend and I. It was private and quite. I can't remember the last time I was that relaxed! We stayed in the "Harbour Side Cabin" and it had a great view. The hot tub was big land the jets had good pressure so you could really relax and enjoy the view! The shower inside was huge and the bed was extremely comfortable.

Breakfast fixings were provided for the first morning's breakfast as promised online and it all came in a super cute basket lined with a red checker cloth! It had eggs, juice, yogurt, oatmeal, bread, delicious jam, and milk (in a cute little old-style glass milk bottle)! The whole thing just made me smile:)

We had easy and close access to Neil and Maggie's (the owner's) private dock and we spent a lot of time crabbing and made stuffed mushroom caps with our freshly caught crab! We were close to restaurants and groceries and Whiffen Spit Park which was only a 3 minute walk from the cottages. We walked along the spit and enjoyed the water and views! I also really enjoyed the price when compared to a hotel where you don't get your own private hot tub and back yard area and are confined inside and outside is a parking lot!

It was a great place to stay! I would recommend it to anyone and will be going back in the future.

We stayed at Salty towers in "The Captains Cabin" this past summer during a bike trip on the Galloping Goose trail. The cabin was clean but the only view was of the back of the owners home. Breakfast was only available for one of the 2 days we stayed and consisted of a loaf of bread and 2 unprepared eggs.
The worst part was that the step into the hottub was broken and my partner slipped on it and sliced his foot open (it wasnt an easy bike ride home) When we told the owner about it he didn't seem all that concerned and acknowleged that he knew it was broken.

Salty Towers is now under new ownership. Doug & Geri Pudwell will ensure your stay is best possible experince you c an have!
There is an Ocean View...However not as good as the Harbour Side Cottage ...I guess looking out the window or walking a couple of feet was not in thier nature. Hot tub is fixed.
I am sorry about their past stay...but this is the best place to stay in Sooke!

The hotel is in a good location and the room was nice. Breakfast was provided. Unfortunately the owners were not pleasant, the room was not made up after the first night, the sheets not changed, the towels not changed, even the coffee cups not washed and no new coffee provided. The first contact with the owners was to have full payment in advance demanded.
This despoite having booked well in advance and secured the room.
Overall a disappointing experience.
