“fine dining casual setting”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

Quite the surprise! The setting is very casual with a lovely view of marina, ocean and mountains. Actually the restaurant sits right on the water with great outdoor seating. The surprise is the menu. The evening we went, local rack of lamb, local tuna, and roast chicken stuffed with brie, were offered. Appetisers were salad or salmon. Desert was homemade Kahlua ice cream and coffee cream brulee. Yes the chef/owner comes from some of the best restaurants in Victoria. His wife was the hostess waitress and brother was helping. Lovely family business. Such a treat to discover this little gem.

“Good food, good service, good price”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

It took us a bit of searching to find this place - started at Pedder Bay, GPS led us astray but finally after asking a couple of locals along the way found the Marina. Had to ask someone where the restaurant was - walk down the ramp and it's on your right hand side.

We were going to sit outside but was concerned about the possibility of a chill off the water so settled for inside and had a glass of wine.

The special was the Prime Rib - when it arrived i thought it was too much - but as it was it was done well and both our plates were cleaned of any food - well a wee bit of fat from the meat.

Local veggies were tasty and fresh.

We would go back again - it is a nice drive from Victoria - causes one to relax along the way, enjoy the down home feel of the restaurant and a leisurely drive back.

Price - not unreasonable for the quality of food.

“We love this place”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

We have been twice now, once with just family, them we took friends. I was hoping that it was not a one hit wonder for us and was nervous about how I talked this place up to the friends we took.

The salmon spring rolls and calamari appies our fantastic! I love that the daily entrees our not on a laminated menu. They create the entrees daily based on what they can get locally.

If you are looking for a family friendly place with a great view and high end food at reasonable prices, this is the place. If you are looking for waiters in suits, extensive wine pairing and an air of snooty, don't bother...

The drive is scenic and the atmosphere is laid back. We love it!

“Quirky, hard to find, delicious food.”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

This is a hidden gem on the shore front in East Sooke, sat by the slip in a campsite. Great food, and not expensive — the calamari is worth the trip alone. Great patio, but alcohol is only served inside.

“A little bite of Paradise”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Keep it simple may seem the theme here, but everything comes toegether for a very pleasant, casual, and gourmet experience. The building is simple. No fancy table cloths. Alcohol is served, but only inside; not on the great patio. The views over the water are spectacular.
You order your food at the counter. We came for lunch, there was only a handful of people there at 2pm. I had the Salmon Springroll, my wife had the Tuna. Each came with a good salad (although it could have been enhanced with cumcumber, onions, other than the one cherry tomato). The food was very good. Food purchased locally, and fresh. We look forward to returning....to this litle bit/bite of paradise.
