While the sleep was great, Coopers Cover is so much more. What a great weekend. Alberto and Ina are excellent hosts. The food is superb, the views wonderfully calm and serene, the walk in the garden was great to photograph. Our room very quiet was little private hideaway with a hot tub all to ourselves with a private enterance. This is a place to go to forget the rest of the world and reconnect with each other, there are no TVs or phones in the rooms , yea! Lots of reading material available. The eals are fantastic and to watch the chef prepare your gourmet meal in front of you was a real treat. This is a wonderful place and will not disapoint. Sooke is a charming village and Ina gives great recomendations for places to see, things to do and other wonderful places to eat.

We were drawn to this bed and breakfast because they offered cooking lessons with a chef. What an experience this was and one not to be missed.

We simply could not be more pleased with our stay at Cooper's Cove Guest House. The property, from top to bottom, is impeccable. The entire property is maintained extremely well, the hosts are super friendly and helpful, and the location is gorgeous! My mother and I checked in for a 4 day weekend stay, mother/daughter trip, and were more than pleased. Our room (the Wildflower room), was tastefully decorated and the views from the deck are spectacular. The owners, Ina and Angelo, have been completely warm, friendly, and helpful. Ina made reservations for us for dinner outside the guesthouse both nights of our stay. Angelo is extradordinarily personable and his cooking class is both informative and fun in a relaxed atmoshpere. The location of the guest house, while outside the city limits of Sooke and adjacent to a busy road, is still perfect. We enjoyed long hikes on the Galloping Goose trail just steps from our back deck. All rooms face the cove, so the traffic noise is not even heard once inside the guesthouse. The food prepared by Angelo is sublime. We look forward to visiting again soon!

As a single woman traveler, I have been overjoyed to find Cooper's Cove Guesthouse, and have made good use of my discovery over many, many years. Some years I have stayed several different times, at various seasons, and it is consistently beautiful, served by congenial host and hostess (Angelo and Ina) with scrumptious and interesting feasts available for breakfast and dinner. For someone "on her own" it has been helpful to know that there would be both interaction with others at some points in the day and also plenty of silence for my very introverted nature. The road traffic becomes inaudible, as the rooms and garden are down the back hillside to the water and the
Goose Trail is something I dream of being on even when I am away from Sooke.
Over the years, I have taken my travel groups to Cooper's Cove as well. Not one person among the many I have brought there has had less than a fine experience. And last May, 2010, I did the "Full House Retreat", bringing special friends for a weekend Celebration of Life, my 70th Birthday offering to them. Every touch, as always, was sensitively done and we all had a fabulous time with Angelo's gourmet genius to guide us in that. It is, indeed, a special place.

We have stayed at Coopers Cove 4 times and each time is better than the last. It is absolutely pristine in every detail. The rooms are spotless- you could eat off the floor. Sherry and a home made chocolate truffle are in your room when you arrive, and a view of a cove with a possible blue heron, bald eagle or sea lion. The Fireplaces, hot tub, and spectacular views are wonderful. Angelo, a international gold medal chef cooks and prepares art from food. You can squeeze down tiny paths through his herb and vegetable gardens anticipating the evening meal. For dinner you sit at a curving granite bar, w/ 2 or 3 other couples, and with a glass of your own wine, while he creates, explaining each step of the way. Three hours later you can't believe it! - fabulous!! His kitchen is state of the art- you feel like your on a TV set for a gourmet cooking demonstration. It's a demonstration, education, entertainment and of course a gourmet meal. But check 1st- he doesn't cook every night. Breakfast is almost a small version of dinner.- more art! Everything is home made and beautifully prepared.
It is not possible to come up with any tiny fragment that would be negative about a stay here. If you see the post a few reviews down- the guy is an idiot and probably trying to get something for nothing. Feel free to contact me if you have doubts.

We are sure glad we kept our reservation for a second stay at Cooper's Cove. We had booked this stay months ago, and had thought of canceling after reading a recent review. Our first stay was just over a year ago, and wondered if maybe something had changed.

While we use TripAdvisor to check out places to stay we haven't placed many reviews, but felt we had to, as Cooper's Cove is really an awesome place to stay.

Chef Angelo was great to us, and very accommodating. My partner has a significant food allergy, but Angelo easily works around it. I can understand how he has been a award winning Chef. We got one of his cook books whe. It first came out, which we use frequently.

We love our room. Warm and cosy, makes having a romantic weekend away easy. The fireplace and hot tub are wonderful. Chef Angelo and his spouse Ina give us truly grand service. Having all the linens pressed, bed sheets and pills cases, wow!

We really find the location perfect, rooms have great views, the overall atmosphere is perfect for a couple or even up to three couples.

We have eaten at all top five restaurants in Vancouver in the last 12 months, Chef Angelo provides not only equally great food, but an insight into it's preparation . Highly suggest taking the cooking school option.
