We spent a few nights in Sooke and were looking for somewhere to eat we could walk to (staying at Harbour). We had read many reviews of this restaurant and decided to give it a go. Best choice we ever made! The venue is an unusual place but don't worry about external appearances, (it's in an odd position) inside there are plenty of tables and good bar space. Lots of overhead fans to keep patrons cool (as it was a heat wave when we visited) and water immediately brought to table. The menu is absolutely perfect and offers many items from fish & chips to sushi (don't expect a 10 page menu as MaiMai have perfected a good quality mixed shorter selection which is brilliant). Can I recommend the totally scrumptious BC crunch or Baha chicken! We ate many other dishes and all were equally excellent. Not withstanding the plentiful portions of sushi, we went for some sweet last courses in the shape of goat cheese - cheese cake and chocolate mouse. Bloody hell, both utterly amazing. The serving team were very friendly and non intrusive which added to our wonderful experience (very chilled out, nice relaxing atmosphere). We can confidently say this was one of our favourite places on a long holiday / tour and would recommend a visit to everyone. Excellent food, excellent service, great venue, chill out and take it all in - this is Sooke after all!
