“Beautiful Location!”
Reviewed 18 September 2013

We had a great time here...the wonderful breakfasts and hummingbirds, quail and bunny more than made up for the traffic noise.
The Galloping Goose Trail is just below the property and a great, scenic walk. Did I forget to mention the blackberries?
Friendly host and guests...the Aussies were so nice :)

Room Tip: I would choose a room attached to the main house, as the traffic cannot be heard as much from there!

We stayed at Chris' B&B in September 2013. Chris' attention to detail, her thoughtfulness, her kindness and her delicious home grown breakfast made a huge difference to our trip. She recommended the perfect walks and restaurants. She had toys and a crib prepared for our baby and cooked him a special breakfast and pureed fruit from her garden for him (he fell in love with her). The room was perfect for us, the view is stunning. Staying here feels like staying with family- a family member who wants to spoil you rotten. As an added bonus there are hummingbirds hovering outside of every window and quails running back and forth across the patio. Divine.

Room Tip: Chris will actually think about your needs and advise the room most suited- whether you are looking...

We are on a trip around Canada before our cruise on 12 September. We've stayed in a mixture of hotels and B&Bs. The B&Bs offer better accommodation in terms of value, comfort, space, and delicious breakfasts rather than the usual boring fare. Chris goes to a lot of trouble to make sure the rooms are clean and well presented. At night she turns on the romantic lights creating a friendly and warm setting for us to return to after our night out. The bed was very comfortable with a lovely soft top. The best night sleep my husband and I have had in the first two weeks in Canada. On top of this there is the leisurely breakfast served starting at 9am which is scrumptious. Fresh fruit, some from the garden with yoghurt, freshly squeezed OJ, then her famous omelette and potato to follow. There were 6 of us staying last night and the service was great. Thoroughly recommended. PS also need to mention the cute Hummingbirds and great view.

Another wonderful stay! Hummingbirds zoom across the patio to sip at feeders while the cove itself lies in silent glory behind you. Owner Chris is delightful + the immaculate rooms have hardwood floors + upscale facilities. In the morning, Chris gives you Belgian waffles or omelets, with lashings of fresh fruit on the side, lots of OJ, and endless coffee. Choose any room or cabin - they're all wonderful, and the place is only 5 minutes from downtown Sooke.

Moonlit Cove is a beautiful place. The rooms are immaculate and inviting, the setting is beautiful and the owner, Chris, invites you into her life in a way that makes you feel like you have been friends for a long time.

Sorry but Moonlit Cove does not measure up. It has a beautiful view of Sooke Basin but to see it you had to look over the Christmas garland. Our host is just way over her head. We forgot our shampoo and requested some and it arrived in a juice glass. Breakfast was adequate but arrived 1 hour late. I would not recommend this B&B to anyone. You cannot run a place this big all by yourself.

We booked the honeymoon cottage for the first night of our mini honeymoon. Chris treated us royally. She knew we had a small wedding on the beach and we did not have a wedding cake. Within the first hour of arriving at her B&B she showed up with two pieces of cheese cake adorned with chocolate shavings! What a special treat. The breakfast was lovely, delicious and huge. It was perfect for the hike we had planned for the day. She truly tries to go out of her way to make you feel special! The wedding dress that traveled in a backpack throughout Central America finally made it's debut on the beach in Sooke! The view from our deck was tranquille and very special as well. If she treats all of her guests like she did us, you can't go wrong staying at the Moonlit Cove B&B!

Room Tip: The honeymoon cottage has a jacuzzi for two! It is very romantic. Chris also has candles throughou...
