This hotel has polite bilingual (English and French) check-in staff. We stayed on a busy Friday night and had no issues with checking in. One elevator is kind of slow but it isnt a huge hotel. We requested a quiet room and ended up on the 4th floor above the pool. So we were at the end of the hall from the elevators but next to a stairwell which came out right beside the pool. It was perfect for us. We did take a King Bed room. Bed was comfortable. They offer pillows of different firmness which is nice. Bed was a bit too firm for me but that is my preference. Exercise room is small but modern with 6-10 equipment machines. It faces the pool and you can see the pool through a glass window. Pool isnt huge but if you have small kids the kiddie pool area is perfect. Hot tub is nice and was clean with space for at least 10 people, Sauna was nice and spacious also... enough room for 8 people easy. Nothing broken. Maintenance was in and out of pool area to check on things at least 5 times (we spent 2 hours in the pool). It closed at 10pm and the last thing maintenance did was to cover the 3 huge birdcages found around the pool. Really nice. Breakfast is not included.
My two complaints are as follows: #1: about my stay is that for such a small little restaurant for breakfast and only a few patrons (2 other tables with 4 people each) sitting, the service was painfully slow. Only two waitresses and they do room service so one girl kept running off with food for rooms while the other was stuck spinning in circles. I had to wait over 10 minutes to ask for a glass of milk. The prices were decent, but the portions were not impressive. Again, this depends on your opinion.
Complaint #2: I am a deal hunter. I tried in vain to find a better price anywhere online and even when I showed up in person and could not even save 5$. I love deals. Again, this is just me.
Bear in mind you are near the highway. If you are trying to spend vacation time in Quebec City you are a bit far away. If you are passing through and continuing on this is the perfect location.
On the same side of the street as the hotel, next door, is a strip mall. You'll find a pharmacy, grocery store, fleurist shop, and at least three restaurants. the Thai place is good. Two grocery stores are visible from hotel. The highway is less than a kilometer away.
To summarize I have stayed at two L'Oiseliere hotels now since the first one I stayed at I fell in love with. If you can, stay at the L'Oiseliere in LEVIS. if you are a pool lover like me, and like ambiance. Ask for a room with a balcony over the pool. amazing. It is only 15 km away from this hotel!! Trust me it is worth the drive!!
