We stayed at this hotel just on an overnight trip to Quebec City. We needed a place to stay, and opted for the L'Oiselière because it was close to the highway. It wasn't a bad choice. The rooms were average-sized, beds were comfy. There were wooden floors in the rooms, instead of the usual carpet-covered floors. I thought that was a nice touch. The only complaint I have is that I was woken up numerous times in the early morning by the sound of people closing the door of their room behind them, but this might be because I am a pretty light sleeper...

We were traveling through Quebec on our way to Fredericton. We had stopped at the Quebec information center as we didn't have anything booked yet in Quebec. They suggested this hotel. We were quite pleased with the location, price and quality. The pool/hot tub were quite impressive. Trees and birds, you feel somewhere tropical. Room was good. Clean, comfy. We really liked that the hotel was only maybe a 5 minute drive from the ferry to old Quebec. NOTE - the front desk told us the boat came every 15 minutes but that is only during "peak hours". We got there at 7:05pm and the next was not until 8:00. All in all a good spot.

Since this hotel is visible from Highway, it was easy to find. Staff were very friendly, especially the dining room staff. Had an excellent meal in the dining room. Good food, nice servers, of whom one of them was the cook, I think. One negative was the only room left was a smoking room, which we agreed to take. No fault of the hotel..it was a long weekend, and we were lucky to get a room at all.
A beautiful pool area, with trees, nice atmosphere.

Room Tip: Rooms above pool area have balconies over pool. May try this next time, but not too sure if it would be noisy. Could see people sitting on balconies enjoy the view.

I really appreciated the hotel design because while it is not fancy, it has all the features necesary for a comforaable stay. «nothing extra, but just enough. For example, the room has hard floors that are easy to maintain. Large tub and shower made of molded plastic. The fridge and coffee maker are on a shelg in the closet that has no door. It is designed for families and has a nice pool area. Its pet freindly. The breakfast menu is wonderful and so was breakfast. We will return.

The hotel sits in an area that is well served by numerous chain hotels, but I thought this might be a little bit different; and it was. The facility is excellent (better than the chain hotels nearby), and the reception is efficient, friendly, and polite.

The on-site restaurant is beautiful to behold, and the numerous cages with exotic birds was a pleasant surprise. The menu is ambitious, but the dishes were a huge disappointment -- very ordinary fare, at quite high prices.

My advice -- do stay here, but eat elsewhere.
