Owner description: Located within the Canadian Museum of History (formerly the Canadian Museum of Civilization) Hands on adventure! The Canadian Children's Museum is one of the most popular attractions at the Canadian Museum of History, and has been since it opened its doors in 1989. Passports in hand, visitors discover one incredible destination after another. Whether on a visit to homes in the International Village, a trek to a desert pyramid, a jaunt to the Port of Entry to help unload a cargo ship, or a stroll through the bustling Market Bazaar, visitors encounter endless ways to learn about the world and one another. A world of discovery where parents have as much fun as their kids!

My 9 year and 4 year had lot of fun. We tried the 1 Museum + 1 IMax. The food is little on the expensive side, so better fill your stomach coming here.

We enjoyed our visit to the museum. It is included in the price of admission to the Canadian Museum of Civilization.

Expect to spend 2-3 hours here. There are a no.of different areas set up, all based on themes of various countries. I think there are about 12 or so countries depicted, including Mexico, Pakistan, some African countries, Holland, etc. All the regions of the world are depicted and children get a sense of how people live in each country. There are also interactive areas set up for kids to use their imagination and play

The museum also has days/time when you can visit it for free. You may want to check out the website of Museum of Civilzation for the details

Will recommend this

The kids up to 14 or so will love this museum, this is a must go. There are plenty of thing for them to descover and play with, including lot of costumes to try.
Then follow your visit with the civilization museum which is really good.

We always have a good time there, it is clean, plenty to do, crafts are free and usually not too long for small children.

Our 2yo and 5yo both spent hours here with so much to keep them amused and interested. Well set up interactive hands on exhibits and the passport kept our 5yo happy stamping at each place he visited. Crowded as could be expected for such an excellent attraction. If we lived here I would certainly have a Membership and visit at least monthly! Great rainy day activity!
