This was my first visit to the museum since the renovations and rebrand from Civilization to History. Was very impressed with all the new updates to the museum. Much better than the old museum, with interactive additions for kids and families. Give yourself lots of time to enjoy. I plan on being back, when I have a whole day to spare.

This exhibit is very educational - it confirms some known facts as well as informs us of little known facts. A lot of reading required - may not interest young visitors.
The cost of a subscription is basically double the regular price for a visit but it provides a whole year's worth of visits (not enough time in one day to see everything and to view films) plus it includes the War Museum as well.

We enjoyed this museum. There were some really interesting exhibits. However, it didn't have the same "wow factor" as some other similar museums we've been to. Our whole family enjoyed the ROM in Toronto much better. The children's museum was overrated in my opinion and far too crowded. It was a good museum, but not great for us. We spent about 3 hours here. Next time we're in the area, we will try something different.

Excellent museum. You need an entire day to see everything here. Loved every minute of it. The totems are amazing. Some areas have little light so you need to be careful walking. The cafeteria has great food and the view from the terrace is amazing. Make sure you leave enough time to look through the gift shop. So many amazing first people artists.

We walked across to the museum from
downtown. The museum is excellent and very informative.

There’s a great collection of totem poles and information on the first peoples on the 1st floor. Upstairs there’s a full social history on Canada which taught us alot, with us being from the UK and not knowing a huge amount about Canada beyond the basics.

It’s all very accessible and easy to enjoy.
