Description: Family owned and operated, Chez Fatima is a place where you can discover the delicate seasonings of Moroccan cuisine. During lunch hours we serve a buffet featuring a wide variety of Moroccan salads and warm dishes. As of summer 2015, we are expanding our menu to include more Mediterranean food. This expansion includes a revamped lunch menu, buffet and the addition of Frank Bartha in the kitchen.

On our third night in Gatineau, we questioned why we'd bothered making a reservation. Every restaurant we looked in as we walked by had lots of tables. Chez Fatima was packed with locals. We definitely needed the reservation we'd made a week earlier.
We came for two reasons - the #1 ranking, and because I'd spent two weeks in Morocco in 2016 coming to love the delicious and spicy Moroccan dishes.
When the proprietor heard this, he warned me that while they cooked in the Moroccan style, they did not spice dishes as heavily. This was bad news (spicy is good and Moroccan spice mixes are uniquely divine), and good news (the hearty flavour of the chicken and lamb shank burst forth.
We made sure to top the meal off with fresh mint tea, poured from a great height.
A good evening spent with friends over delicious, home cooked food.

We visited Chez Fatima for an evening meal, and at 8:30 p.m. on a weeknight the restaurant was still fairly busy. Service was prompt but not rushed and a few minutes after being seated the black olives and anise bread arrived. We ordered the Fatima Salad to share, which was an amply-sized combination of beets, shredded cabbage, Moroccan carrots, red potatoes, hummus and tomatoes garnished with fresh parsley. We followed it with individually-sized tagines, one of lemon chicken, the other lamb with figs, prunes and almonds. Both arrived sizzling hot, and were delicious. They were, though, filling, and we could not do justice to the shared bowl of couscous topped with squash, carrots and turnip. Midway through dinner, Fatima arrived at our table to introduce herself and to ask if the meal was good. It was. Very. All in all, we were impressed, and because of this we concur with the high rating that Chez Fatima has achieved.

We had a great birthday dinner last night, with 14 people (teens and adults). The buffet was varied and excellent, we discovered a good Moroccan wine, and we even had a surprise party cake. Fatima and Nora welcomed us in a cheerful atmosphere, and there was a nice complicity between them and with the other employees :) This was a truly nice evening. Thank you very much!

In the middle of a snow storm Fatima received us like we were at a family house
We decide to have our new year so upper early during to the snow storm and Fatima accommodate us gracefully. The food is amazing, we'll balance morrocain flavors ,
the lamb fall of the bone and the ambiance is grate, the patrons talk one to each other at the buffet area and over the tables and the owner create this marvelous synergie.
If you like or you want to discover morrocain food thisthis is the place.

Came with a friend who recommended the place. Having been a restaurant owner before it was clear that most everything was made from scratch. Simple traditional Morrocan but well balanced and fresh. Great value for a lunch buffet, lamb and chicken were fall of the bone. Well balanced in spices though she keeps the chile heat lower that it might traditionally for more sensitive palates so ask for the Shatta spice sauce if want to kick it up. Highly recommended!
