We were here about a week after they'd opened. What a unique addition to the Fernie dining scene. Latin American food with a seriously extensive menu of tequilas and mezcals. I had their strawberry basil marguerita, a coconut ginger marguerita and a pisco sour. Lovely, could have been a bit punchier on flavour but lovely.
You can do a tapas style dinner or appetizer/entree. Started with their trout ceviche made fresh. Salsa was nice and punchy once we swirled in the aji amarillo sorbet that was in the centre. Had a corn cake stuffed with pulled pork - yum. Got some tacos - a cod and a pulled pork. Pulled pork was a little dry - would have liked it saucier. Moved on to the lime marinated chicken which came with super fresh beans and carrots and I want to say plantains but that wasn't what it was. Couldn't taste the cilantro butter but the watermelon salsa was refreshing.
Dessert? A grilled peach pizza with dulce de leche, creme fraiche and mint. As good as it sounds.
Superb well priced menu with tons of options for small or big appetites and thirsts. On my wish list would be latin music just to contribute to a unique ambiance and bolder flavours.
Their patio, on the side of the restaurant rather than the street, with a lovely shady pergola wasn't opened yet. When we were there, they weren't taking reservations.
