“Fantastic relaxing weekend”
Reviewed 6 May 2012 for a stay in May 2012

We had a fantastic relaxing weekend. Excellent place to stay and watch steam trains go rolling by. So warm and cosy with everything you could possibly need. We loved feeding the pigs and they loved eating our left overs. Terri cooked us an excellent meal on arrival which we really appreciated. She is a lovely lady and was there if we needed her for anything. She is a very good cook and her cake was also excellent. The area is so pretty and we really enjoyed visiting Tenterden and Cranbrook. There are some excellent garden centres nearby. The Castle Inn pub was really nice and it's great that it's only a few minutes walk away. Would like to come back again and have another relaxed and happy holiday. Thanks Terri.

“The Darling Buds of Bodiam”
Reviewed 25 January 2012 for a stay in December 2011

As Pop Larkin would say, this cottage is perfick. So perfick in fact that guardians Terri and Michael had to prise us from the property (gently and calmly) on the day we had to leave. I am sure that H.E. Bates would have at some stage visited Bodiam, West Sussex (separated from Kent by the mysterious Kent Ditch) on his many holidays in Kent and may have watched a game of cricket from The Old Cricket Pavilion. This glorious old building has been sympathetically and luxuriously converted into a warm, cosy and splendid two bedroom cottage with large spacious living areas, sleep inducing beds, the most fabulous of views (especially if you are a lover of steam trains or an ornathologist) and the peace and quiet rarely experienced in our overcrowded isle. The welcome we received from Michael and Terri was warm, caring but totally unintrusive and, as our stay encompassed Christmas and New Year the subtle yet beautiful decoration of the cottage was much appreciated as was the Christmas cake, fresh eggs from their farm and all the kit you needed for a great cup of tea or coffee on arrival. The cottage was scrupulously clean, the bedlinen crisp and snuggifying and the open fire in the hearth the icing on the cake. Terri and Michael are the sort of people you wish you had always known and we had re-booked the cottage for Christmas/New Year 2012 two days after arriving. Sadly I lost all my photos due to a technical hitch but I know Terri has one of a wonderful sunrise that I emailed to her and hopefully she will publish it on the website. Loads to see and visit in the area or a great place to sit and do absolutely nothing but eat, sleep and gaze at the views. The kitchen was so well equipped that cooking was a joy and as we had brought our Sky card with us we had a full Sky package to make the most of. With a deserted Bodiam Castle as our "dog walk" every morning we were in heaven. Make sure you visit Jempsons at Peasmarsh which is probably the most amazing "supermarket" in the country with the friendliest of staff and Tenterden is fab for shopping. If you do nothing else in 2012, stay at The Old Cricket Pavilion - it should be available on the NHS.

“Fantastic rental in a super location! Well worth a visit!”
Reviewed 19 January 2012 for a stay in January 2012

From the inital enquiry Terrie and Mike were absolutely fantastic! We were a party of two couples, a baby and a dog. We rented the property for 2 nights and were told that we could get in early, from around 1pm. On the way down i recieved a voicemail from Terrie saying that they had cleaned the property early and so we could get in even earlier if required! My partner's parents arrived first and found milk, bread, cake, fresh eggs, tea, coffee etc all there. The owners also popped in to see if they could do anything for them and to check all was ok. We arrived to a lovely warm place - definitely a home from home - much, much better than any holiday rental we have stayed in before!! All the equipment and the facilities were clean and seemed fairly new, one of the big issues for me is that when staying somewhere it is important that you aren't reminded that other people have also stayed there...if that makes sense. The Old Crcket Pavillion was perfect in every way and we felt relaxed and at home from the moment we arrived.
We dont like to stay in the same place twice but this place is definitely worth another visit! The prices were incredibly reasonable considering the location and quality of the property and contents.
We had a very enjoyable time and hope to be back again soon! Thank you to the owners who clearly would have done anything to ensure we enjoyed our stay.

“Loved it! An absolute gem.”
Reviewed 25 October 2011 for a stay in October 2011

The attention to detail was superb, from the initial enquiry to the day we went home.

Lovely peaceful location for children and Kei the dog, with the cottage not having passing traffic. A great place to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet, but equally good for lots of things to see and do without travelling too far.
The cake made by Terrie was divine...it was a fight for the last slice!
Wonderful holiday experience that we intend to repeat in the not too distant future. Thanks Terrie and Mick for all your hard work.
