“Good value for the price”
Reviewed 26 November 2012

I got a great deal on the price for a quick getaway, and it was nice. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, there was a free continental breakfast that was fairly extensive. The only down side was the tub, there were no nonslip grips in the bottom and i had to put a towel in there with me to keep from falling during showering, it was that slippery. The other part was that the pool was in a different building than the room, which would be fine in the summer but in the icy cold of winter you basically have to drive to and from the pool, unless you want to walk outside with soaking wet hair in below zero weather. The room had a fridge and microwave, which was great for reheating my coffee from the easily accessible Tim's down the road. In the off season the restaurant is closed in the evening, so you will have to go down the road to Murray's or into the main street of Woodstock.

Room Tip: There seems to be three types of buildings, there are two motel strip drive up sections, a two-story...

We stayed one night at this motel and were pleased with the accommodations. It isn't the newest motel on the trans Canada, but it served the purpose we needed it to serve. We had a swim in the indoor pool, and then retired to the room. The bed was comfortable. We had a microwave and fridge so we didn't need to go out for dinner. The bathroom was brand new. The air conditioning worked. Some of the wooden furniture was a little worn, but we weren't moving in. What we needed was cleanliness and comfort and we found that.

The continental breakfast was quite good. It was what we needed to keep us going for our trip. There were choices of cereal, boiled eggs, coffee, hot water for tea or hot chocolate, milk, juices, bagels, toast and even waffles to toast in the toaster. For under $90.00/night who could complain about that?

Yuck! Very old and not updated. The kind of room where you don't want to touch anything because it's all so gross and musty. Rusty bathtub. Horribly uncomfortable beds with scratchy thin "prison" sheets.
Inadequate lighting.
On a hill adjacent to the hwy and even on a Saturday night (ie, without truck traffic) it was noisy all night long. I can't imagine how bad it could be on a weeknight.
There are other options in the area. We were on our way home from family vacation in PEI and were taking the US route home. We chose to stop in Woodstock because of its proximity to the border crossing.
If you're doing a similar trip and going into the states anyway, stay in Houlton, Maine on the other side. Lots and lots of much better options in hotels, restaurants, etc.

This place is alright for a clean, quit sleep on the long, boring drive through NB. It was not that inexpensive. They only had one crib (play pen actually) for the entire place. They accept dogs. We were in the A-frame which is large, renovated and private. Take it! Staff was friendly and breakfast was adequate.

Room Tip: take the A-frame!

Older 'motor court' hotel with cosmetic upgrades and rooms opening directly to exterior. Room was on the small side but appeared clean. Pool is located in a separate building. Staff was pleasant and very helpful. Continental breakfast included typical fare. I'd make another overnight stop here.

Okay for a stopover but rooms are outdated, bed wasn't comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly. Pool was okay. Didn't stay for breakfast. Our room was clean. TV was good (flat screen and cable). It was quiet. Microwave and refrigerator were in the room and adequate. I'd rate the hotel better had the bed been more comfortable.

I am not sure where the photos came from on the web site, but the rooms we seen were not even remotely the same. The first room we were given had hair all over the tub faucet, dirty vanity, toilet. When we complained we were shown another room, mildly better, but the tub plug had a nasty build up and the shower was filthy. If the cleaning is this minimal, what other short-cuts are taken by the cleaning staff? I slept on top of the bed spread. I will not go back. My husband took two seconds and cleaned half of the tub plug with a bit of soap and water and presented to the desk. We did however get a $20.00 credit. If there had been any other places to stay after a 12 hour drive we would have left. I would not recommend this place to anyone who cares about cleanliness.

I thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. When the front desk agent informed me of the situation, I promptly came to the property that evening to inspect the first room that was assigned. Apart from a few hairline scratches because of the age of the bathroom, I did not find any hair. We want all our guests to be satisfied so we gave the benefit of the doubt.

There was hard water build up on the shower head, which I do apologize for and refunded $20 for the inconvenience. Our staff is well training as you can see from previous comments and I am sure if there was anything else wrong with the room it would have been brought to our attention since you mentioned you are in the cleaning business. The photos on the site do represent most of our room types and if we could we would post pictures of all 53 of our rooms, but there are restriction on the number of pictures that can be posted on the website. I would recommend anyone to inspect the room before checking-in because we want all our guests to be 100% satisfied.
