Our lunch here was the highlight of our day trip to Saint Georges. The food and the atmosphere is superb, but most of all you will remember the hospitality. The small intimate dining rooms could be intimidating if it were not for the warm down to earth welcome extended by the owners. The fact that we do not speak French was never an issue, the owner took great care in describing in English the varied menu offerings. You will find Maison Vinot to be comfortable and unpretentious and will eagerly look forward to a return visit.

If you have a chance to visit this place, don't hesitate, it's a place worth visiting. We came for lunch on our way from New York to Quebec, and arrived exactly when the restaurant was about to close. But the owner was extremely nice and let us have our lunch. We felt as if we were visiting old friends, the atmosphere was great, food and wine were excellent. I wish it was closer to home so that we can come there more often.

Thanks to trip advisor comments My husband and I discovered Maison Vinot. Having visited the area several times we had never even driven down the second avenue but now we have we will certainly visit again.

We were looking for somewhere to relax and enjoy a good meal with no rush and good service. All aspects of our goals were achieved. The building itself is very attractive, cosy and warm with a very welcoming greeting received. Good parking is close by if not available on the property.

The food on offer is fresh, local products are used and everything is home made.

For us the prices were very reasonable, where else can you go for soup- on the day we visited it was delicious bok choy and ginger, entree with tea or coffee for 11- 19 dollars at this high standard? I had filet mignon which was wonderful and my husband enjoyed a local dish which he enjoyed immensely. Our visit was at lunch time, desserts were 3 dollars extra -caramel with maple syrup and a wild berry sponge which were both a treat. Evening prices are understandably higher but for this level of service and fine food there is no reason to complain. We would like to visit again one evening but it will have to be on our next trip to the area!

Philippe, was very informative about the food, the area and things his general. His wife was very busy in the kitchen but took time to make us feel welcome and share her time with customers.

Reservations are recommended to avoid disappointment as seating is limited.

We will return and can highly recommend.

Exterior may seem a bit unassuming, but inside is a beautifully decorated establishment with a unusual and extraordinary menu. The owner greets you warmly, the chef comes out after dinner to see if you liked your dinner. The food was A+. I would very highly recommend visiting this wonderful little gem.
