“Couldn't be any better!”
Reviewed 21 February 2014

Stayed at Locheil B&B last weekend and was so impressed by the lovely room with a gorgeously redecorated bathroom, bow window, and a day bed along with the queen in our room. We had access to a fridge stocked with water, juice and all kinds of pop, no extra charge. In the morning, we could smell the cinnamon buns baking down in the kitchen, and found fresh brewed coffee and biscotti just outside our door - just perfect to nosh on while we got ready. We had time to lounge in the sitting area - something out of Victorian times - and gaze out the window at the beautiful sunshine, as we read the paper. In the dining room - also something out of Homes and Gardens - we had freshly squeezed orange juice, cranberry juice, tea and coffee. There was a blackboard leaning on a chair in the corner with the days 2 breakfast choices - french toast with peameal bacon, and Eggs Benedict, again with peameal. The eggs were amazing! It is hard for me to get them just right at home - not too runny, but cooked part way through, with just enough yolk to sop up with your lightly buttered toast. The Hollaindaise sauce was perfect. Our host was there like magic if we needed anything, but left us alone to enjoy our breakfast. If you're ever in the area believe me - no hotel could match this place for ambiance, food and convenience (a short walk to shops and restaurants). Hope I can come back one day!

What this B&B lacks in "curb appeal", it makes it up for tenfold! The rooms are very well appointed and clean. Very roomy and private baths. Wi-fi works well and the breakfast each morning is incredible and made to order. There's coffee and biscotti in the morning, right outside your room, an extensive DVD collection, water juices, etc. A beautiful pool table if you're so inclined...just a great B&B! Value? Can't be beat! Thank you Gail for a wonderful visit...we'll be back!

We stayed at the Lochiel B&B on Sept 14/13. The room was very very comfortable and nicely decorated and clean!! The bed and pillows were amazing. There was coffee served outside the door in the morning which was great as I like a cup of coffee while getting ready for the day! Also we had our own bathroom which was an added bonus. Breakfast was served in the formal dining room. The food was delicious and well prepared. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. The price was very good as well.

I've stayed in a lot of bed and breakfasts and this is one of the better ones.

To begin with the house is charming, the rooms are large and beautifully decorated, the location can't be beat and there are complimentary pops.

It's also very, very, very clean. Even the comforter smelled of new detergent.

Then you get to the food... the scones are amazing! They are buttery, flaky and rich. They melt in your mouth and they are still warm! There is a help-yourself bar of cereal and yogurt and juice and tea. But then comes the main dish. I haven’t had pancakes this tasty in forever.

The price is right, the food is amazing, the hosts are polite and unintrusive. It's great.

The only, only, only complain is the parking is a bit tight, but you know what? It's not bad at all to park. You just have to pay more attention.

All and all, a delightful stay.

Stayed here with my son while in town for a golf tournament. The room we had was lovely...large, very comfortable & well equipped. Flat screen TV, huge selection of DVD's, completely stocked refrigerator with everything from water to Italian sodas! The owners are very gracious & welcoming. Breakfasts were wonderful with two selections each morning to choose from.
Lovely historical home, very quiet street...great for sleeping, and very close to the downtown area which was nice to be able to walk to restaurants for dinner.
We had a wonderful stay & would not hesitate to recommend this spot to anyone that is visiting Renfrew. There was just no comparison to staying here or at a nearby hotel...this was a MUCH better choice!!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room #1...corner room with one Queen & one single bed. It was lovely & quiet &a...

The nicest B & B we stayed in during our trip. Beautiful, large room, soft and comfortable bed with fireplace, great shower. Everything was spotlessly clean and well kept, this is a historic home that has been beautifully and tastefully decorated. The location was within walking distance of downtown and restaurants. Nice and quiet and the hosts went above and beyond with service providing a great breakfast and even snacks and drinks available to all.

Breath-taking rooms, lovely breakfasts, and outstandingly gracious hosts in this sleepy B&B!

I was placed at Renfrew Victoria Hospital for a week during which I was very lucky to stay at Lochiel. I would jump at the chance to visit again.

Thank you for an unforgettable stay, Gail and Steve! I'd give you 6/5 in every category if I could.
