A spectacular property and the staff are the height of professionalism. The food is some of the best I have had anywhere. The property itself had a few minor blemishes but nothing to detract from the stay. Overall one of the nicest getaways I've ever had and I will definitely be visiting again.

Only gripe would be that the beverage focus is almost exclusively on wine. A few ciders were featured but only three very mediocre beers available and only at the pub. With all the fantastic Quebec, Vermont and Maine craft breweries in close proximity it is a shame that they couldn't pay some attention to this in their otherwise incredible dining experience. The quality of craft beer has risen to that of fine dining establishments like this and it is an oversight not to make them available.

Manoir Hovey is the perfect romantic escape. Only 25 miles north of the Border but a world away. The Manoir is located on a beautiful lake. Our room was large and freshly decorated in a contemporary style. French doors lead to a patio with seating and the lake. The bathroom was total luxury and huge with marble floors, whirlpool tub, separate shower and double vanity. The dining room was excellent along with the wine list and service. The library, bar and restaurant were all comfortable and inviting.

We spent two nights in October 2013 at the hotel for a birthday celebration. It is an old boutique hotel, and is nice, but not nearly a price-performer. Our room was fine, although it was the smallest queen-sized bed I'd ever slept in. The room had a nice balcony (although it was too chilly while we were there to really use it). However, the carpet had stains on it, which is not what I would expect for the price.

We had dinner the first night at Plaisir Gourmand in Hatley which was excellent. Perhaps we were spoiled by the first night, but the dinner the second night at the hotel was mediocre to average at best, and the service was EXTREMELY slow. There were plenty of servers in the dining room, but the kitchen seemed unable to put out food. It was not just our table -- we watched most of the other patrons near us fidgeting and looking around for their food. We had breakfast at the dining room the next morning, and it was just as slow. Definitely not a 4 or 5 star place.

We took iur 2 girls 5 & 8 to manoir hovey, when we arrived they didn t have 2 beds room, then they gave us the presidencial suite that is 3 room, and has its own jacuzzi, barbecue, kitchen, living room and pool. The food is award winning and the service of every staff member was incredible. The have bikes you can use in many roads around, kayaks, paddle board and boats to use in their breath taking lake, will be back very soon!!

This is a beautifully situated hotel with lovely views over the lake. Our room was very tastefully decorated, with a fire which gave it a really cosy feel, especially as it was pouring down outside. It also had a coffee machine in the room, which is something I like, but you don't usually get them in the more expensive hotels. The bathroom was small which meant the sink was actually in the bedroom rather than the bathroom itself, which isn't really convenient. Also, one of the mixer taps which regulated the temperature of the water for the shower wasn't working properly, which meant that you got blasts of extremely hot water which were really hard to control. It also made the loudest screeching noise. We did mention this to reception when leaving, & the guy did say sorry, & that he would get this looked at asap. We had dinner in the restaurant & have to say it was one of the most exceptional meals we have ever had. I had scallops to start with & my husband had guinea fowl. For our main course we both decided on the fillet. We have been to many restaurants & by far, this was was of the best piece of fillet we have ever had (& complemented the chef himself). I had cheese rather than a dessert & was really impressed with the taste, texture & quality of the Canadian cheeses offered. My husband had tarte tatin but said it wasn't great, the pastry was a bit soggy. So I gave him some of my cheese (reluctantly). However, that said, the starters & main courses were definitely five star. The restaurant is beautifully decorated throughout & is perfect for a romantic evening. We decided to have a nightcap in the bar, but when we walked in discovered that the barman was closing up for the night. However, he did apologise saying that there had been no one in, but did serve us our drinks. We did feel that the bar should stay open until the residents have finished in the restaurant, as it is quite nice to just relax & finish with a nightcap. In the morning we went down for breakfast & had the best ever granola. We have never come across granola to beat this. It stayed crunchy & crispy till the end. You can even buy this from reception. We really enjoyed our stay & the staff were very friendly. Would we stay again - Yes!

This is a beautiful place on a beautiful location, but we were disappointed with the service. It was our 30th wedding anniversary and we decided to stay here for something special. Not a single person there acknowledged our special day and it would have been so easy. Just a small token would have been fine. Even when we told the dining room, we got nothing! Check in was extremely awkward. The bar was closed most of the time and every time we asked for something, they either forgot or seemed to not care. There were so many things that I would have done differently if I were in charge of the staff. We might as well have been in a large hotel, except for the location. Even the hotel in Montreal gave us an upgrade in rooms!

Just returned from yet another amazing stay at our favourite hotel and restaurant in the world. We discovered Manoir Hovey in 2012 and have been back several times since. this time we had luxury room on the second floor with a fireplace and lake view. The room seemed to have been very recently renovated and was just beautiful, the view of the lake with the fall colours was magical. Everything about this place is just perfect, from the luxurious rooms and service to the outstanding world class restaurant. We are serious foodies and have enjoyed the best meals and service of our lives in the restaurant here. Even better than many of the best restaurant in Paris, New York or Spain that we have visited. The only problem is that when you find a place like this which is as good as it gets, it becomes very hard to go anywhere else. So we're going to keep going back.
