We had a great time here. The food and the setting are phenomenal. We had a treetop room which I think is worth the extra money and the privacy is a real plus. Room was incredibly spacious and very well appointed.

The food is unreal and the bbq we had on Friday was especially good. The trip was very relaxing and we really enjoyed it.

We had an issue with our air conditioning the first night that made our room quite warm but the manager compensated us for the inconvenience and were quite apologetic. It was fixed the next morning after a contractor was brought in. Service was incredibly slow at one of our breakfasts.

These issues aside it was great and without them I would have given the manoir an even higher rating.

Imagine a place where you can stroll the gardens, with every Adirondack chair perfectly situated for relaxation and privacy, though not so private that a nice young man or woman can't find you and bring you a glass of wine. Magical. And then there are the dinners, two-plus hours of delectable cuisine (and a great wine cellar to boot). In the mornings, we drank coffee on our balcony overlooking the lake, wondering why it took us so long to get here and how long it would be until we return.

Just back from 1 night at this fabulous & prestine Manor. Everything about it exceeded any expectations I may have had!
There isn't anything the owners/managers haven't thought of!
The staff members are truely lovely and eager to do anything to make your visit a memorable one.
I had a breakfast that was to die for...eggs Benedict, such a treat. Sadly, I didnt have dinner there...next time!!
Because there will most definitely be a next time!!!

My wife and I spent two days at the Manoir Hovey, we had room 28 and bought the meal package for two days which consisted of dinner and breakfast. The room was beautiful and featured a wonderful balcony overlooking the lake. The area is gorgeous and the gardens were fully in bloom. The room could have used a stiffer bed and a few more electric outlets but on the whole the hotel was excellent. The heated swimming pool looked lovely, unfortunately it rained most of the time we were there. The library made up for the weather with very comfortable chairs,it also overlooked the lake.
As far as the food is concerned, it was fine but I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that I'd had much better in larger cities, e.g. Montreal and New York. I realize that the ambience is rustic but I wouldn't recommend the dining experience. Quite frankly I found the service a bit slow and the food on the expensive side.
All in all it was a relaxing two days and as I've noted the hotel was certainly above par.

Room Tip: Second floor facing the lake ensures a good room.

We have stayed at Hovey Manoir on several occasion and this was celebrating another wedding anniversary. Our room request was #8 and we were pleasantly surprised that the room had been completely renovated with a modern flair...beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. The food experience was once again incredible and most enjoyable. We spend a lot of time relaxing and reading on our spacious balcony with a view of the lake.

Room Tip: You may want to consider Room #8 in the main complex. It is spacious and impressive.

We came here specifically for their biking trip. The hotel is fine but they have no idea about biking. The bikes were old and broke down the first day. The helmets were also old. They didn't have any real info about a route to take, where to stop, etc.

This was our third trip to Manoir Hovey. Originally, we went there just for a Sunday brunch -- via mystery writer Louise Penny's blog and book. It was terrific: food, ambiance, lake-side location. It was a luxury treat for us while on a camping trip based around a "Three Pines"-themed search . Then we went back for a one nite/one dinner stay: Couldn't have been more lovely, not only with Manoir Hovey's own gourmet dining and wonderful facility, but walking, shopping, and eating in the beautiful, little, lakeside town of North Hatley. That trip started from our cabin near Keene Valley, NY. So, when my own author wife and I were talking about what would be something special to do for my 75th birthday at the end of May, one of the first things that popped into my mind was to travel from New York City all the way back up to southern Quebec's Eastern Townships for a three nite and two dinner stay at Manoir Hovey. The weather was wonderful, spring blooms well popped out, and people, food, and accommodations superb. One shouldn't look for a "bargain" by staying at this five star hotel, but their "three nite for two" deal was an added attraction. Last note: Drive the little countryside roads on the Township Trail -- wonderful views and discoveries await. Visit the Monastery. Watch out for the crowds in Magog. We don't often stay in upscale places, but this one was worth it!

Room Tip: Look for the three nites for two deal
