Manoir Le Tricorne
Ranked #4 of 12 North Hatley B&B and Inns
Reviewed 18 August 2013

We were in North Hatley for a family getaway weekend, and rented 6 rooms in this B&B. The owners were kind enough to give us rooms on the same floor. We had most of the floor to ourselves and it was very clean, and cozy with it's little alcoves and balconies.
The breakfast was good and we appreciated the service and the kindness of the owners.
We were in a room called Jardin d'été, which has a bathroom across the hall. The key to our room unlocked the bathroom door, and it was private and quite large. It was the only room of the six that did not have an in room bathroom. The grounds are very beautiful and vast and the location is out of the way and quiet, exactly what we were looking for. I would highly recommend it!

Room Tip: There was a swimming pool, but we did not get to use it. If you want an in room bathroom, you shoul...

I give this B&B five stars! Super comfortable and clean. Gourmet breakfast. A quiet, secluded setting with a pool and a view. Friendly and helpful Innkeepers. Hope to visit again when the leaves are in full color!

It was an adventure driving into North Hatley at night. However, the directions were good and we were pleasantly surprised as we approached in the darkness. Ahead of us were 2 well lit magnificently well kept buildings making up the Auberge. The Inn Keeper immediately made us feel at home. She has a great sense of humour and seems to enjoy the interactions with her guests. As she showed us to our rooms we could see how fastidious she and her family who help out on the property were. Everything was in its place and the décor was definitely from the local. The room was relatively large, the bed excellent and the private bathroom was well equipped. As impressive was the immaculately grounds in this country setting.

Breakfast was special. Each morning was different but equally impressive.

Whether one is travelling through or has come to this spot to relax and enjoy you won't be disappointed.

The area of North Hatley has much to offer in every season. We enjoyed the spring like weather and drove a few short kilometers to eat a quiet lunch along the banks of the lake. We look forward to a time when we can visit again.

Room Tip: Every area of the main house was suitable.

We spent the last two days in this hidden gem, the rooms were outstanding complete with Jucuzi tub and fire place. THe breakfast was to die for. The hospitality of Johnny the inkeeper made the weekend. We highly recommend the Tricorne for all this plus the fact it has a great view of a small Quebec town wher everyone was friendly even though we striggled with their language

Room Tip: All rooms looked great but the end rooms were the most upscale

This having been my very first B&B I didn't know what to expect. I was a little weary of what I would find. I must say I was more than pleasantly surprised, the grounds are spectacular, completely breathtaking view, I loved it and I couldn't have asked for anything more. The rooms very spacious and clean, the balcony with the view was definitely my favourite part of it all. So calming, picturesque and romantic. I Loved it! WE loved it!

To Nicole and Jean-Yves, thank you for making our one night stay so pleasant, we definitely plan on returning for a longer stay next time.

Nicole it was great sweeping with you haha!! Thanks for the great breakfast! Next time I will have to bring you the dvd of "Fawlty Towers" :)

Thanks for a wonderful stay, we'll definitely be back!!

Room Tip: Get a Suite with a balcony and a view if possible. This place is magical!

I have read many reviews about Le Manoir Le Tricorne on various sites, both excellent and average and it must be said that I found most of the negative reviews to be the travellers fault.

When shopping for a B and B, vacationers should read the websites carefully and of course call ahead to get a feel for the place from the owners and most importantly know what you want as a vacation.

If you are looking for a spa like retreat with a gastronomic table and massage, this place is not for you. If you want peace and quiet with rustic charm and wonderful and helpful hosts then look no further!

No there is no dinner service, no coffee makers in the rooms and dare I say it no TV'S save for the common spaces. Personally when I go to the country I cherish this, and, if you look closely at MLT's website or if you speak with Nicole (one of the owners) you will find them to be very upfront about the amenities they have.

What you will find at the Manoir are quaint rooms with warm country decor and some more upscale rooms with fireplaces. A delicious and varied gourmet breakfast is served fresh every morning. Just in the two days we were there we were served homemade French toast and eggs Benedict. A nice change of pace from the often standard continental stale fare you find elsewhere...

The room was comfortable, impeccably clean and tasteful with a high vaulted ceiling and an equally large bathroom with bath and shower

The surroundings are gorgeous! This place is 92 acres of beautiful countryside niched in the hills of North Hatley, Quebec, with an unobstructed view of Lake Massawippi. The pool is cleverly located far from the main house in order to preserve the tranquility of the surroundings.
In fact everything here seems to have been designed to give you the impression that you are alone with nature. The place was full when we were there but we rarely bumped into other guests.

The hosts were some of the friendliest people I have come across in the service industry. They make a point of honour on a daily basis to learn everyone's names and they are always up for a chat and to point you in the right direction.

This was a very peaceful weekend a nice step out of the hustle and bustle of city life, the perfect place to relax... As advertised.
