We had a perfect stay at this magneficient hotel over looking lake/Lac Ouimet in Mont-Tremblant.

Our spacious room had a balcony with a view towards the lake (10 seconds walk from the hotel).

The hotel is very well maintained and modern. There are a lot of shiny strong wooden logs in the restaurant area and it looks like a hotel in Switzerland! We enjoyed their breakfast buffer... excellent choice of food.

The rates are reasonable - double bed with breakfast buffer for 3 (2 adults + a 12 year old) was $205 with taxes - May/2010.

I would highly recommend this location for anyone that wants peace and quiet but be near the Mont-Tremblant village (just 6 minutes from the hotel).

The staff is friendly and approachable too!

This is our second stay at this log cabin style lodge (winter skiing) - very welcoming atmosphere, great for kids - indoor pool has on site staff to manage the area, and it's only 10 minutes from Mont Tremblant Village (shuttle bus), and Mont Blanc by car, (a less expensive but sizeable ski hill). Rooms were simple, neat and well-maintained. Small gas fireplaces are okay, but not fulfilling if you prefer open-style fireplaces. We took a basic room (no view). Restaurant is high end and most kids won't appreciate it, but their lounge-style bar area which is part of the lobby, has enough of a menu, including kids menu. We stayed and ate in the lounge with pre-teen kids, playing card games and enjoying the lake view (no video games for a change!) buffet is a bit pricey, but for a family with kids who eat big breakfasts and not much else while skiing, it was worth it.

We spent the week end with my wife at the Grand Lodge, part of the birthday package I offered her.
The place is really charming, the main building built in logs is really impressive and the big fireplace a nice add on .
Staff was very friendly and helpful during our whole stay, it always pay to be nice and polite, we got some nice little perks for the price of a smile .The hotel was booked to capacity but it never showed during our stay.
The suite we had was a sunset view on the 2ndfloor...carpets were old and showing tears and cigarette burns.Tv set were old generation ( could use an upgrade to plasma nowadays) The bed was comfy and the 2 bathrooms clean and properly supplied. The living room and kitchen space were a nice plus but we did not cook anything, the couch was outdated and should be replaced
We took the breakfast buffet the first day and it was really good.Fresh fruit, toadst and all the usual beans bacon potatoes, cereals, you name it....The real extra was the waffle/crepe/omlelette station made to order ....Yummy...and the dning room has a splenid view onhthe lake. We should have repaeted the 2nd morning instead of ending in a local "wannabe Cora' that turned out to be just as expensive as the buffet but with less choices.
The hotel food is very good in general, maybe overpriced tough.
Very nice swimming pool and whirlpool ( with attendant)

Parking acroos the street can be a pain when it's really cold but no big deal.
Too bad there's not much to do in the area at night if you're not in the ski resort...

All in all very happy with our stay, we will repeat if we have the opportunity, I just hope the management will "refresh' the rooms a little bit .

We stayed six nights at the Le Grand Lodge, Mont Tremblant with our two teenagers. The room was a bit small but had two large beds in the living and the two bathrooms were a plus, so it worked. We had a problem with the fire place and they came immediately and fixed it. There were plenty of activities for the holidays the hotel had available, just too darn cold!! This lodge is about 5 mintues from the ski resort, but it was nice to be in a quiet place. With kids you might want to stay in the village though. But this lodge is VERY kid friendly. The pool was okay, too much chorine. There is a game room which was good. We had a problem with the pool table and a employee named Christopher came and fixed it right away. As a matter of fact this employee is EXCELLENT and helped us a lot, very educated on customer service. The gym was small and not bad. Didn't use the treadmill but did use the spin bike and it is in bad shape and needs to be replaced. Small things like that should be upgraded. Restaurant in hotel was expensive, front desk was friendly, room price was a bit high for size but very clean and maid service came everyday. There is a ski shop in the lodge and you can rent all your equipment right there which is a plus, Overall, we had a great stay. P.S. Hot cocoa /marshmellows and chocolate truffles each night!!!

This resort originally came to the top of my list over the last couple of years when I was researching places to stay in Mont Tremblant. Having stayed at the resorts in Whistler, we were open to something difference outside The Village at Tremblant experience. The rustic appearance and location of this resort appealed to me. I was rooting for a better experience but felt let down in the end.

Let’s start with the general stuff. Parking is across the street but so what? No difference if it was on the same side as the resort. It also had electrical outlets to plug in your block heater on your car. It was -28C a few days ago – having that outlet was great. Nice skating rink, great view of lake, nice pool, small but adequate fitness area with equipment. Store with gloves, swimsuits, ski rentals, treats was great. I bought gloves there after looking in Mt.Tremblant and finding that the store at the lodge had a great selection with good prices. This resort is NOT within walking distance of Mt. Tremblant’s ski runs; about a 10 minutes drive away. There is a free shuttle to the mountain. The downtown area of Mt. Tremblant is 10 minutes away in the other direction. There is a Metro grocery store that obviously gears to tourist with lots of pre-made meals, Dollarama, Giant Tiger, gift stores, etc. – if you forgot to bring it, you will not suffer.

The staff from housekeeping to the wait staff to the front desk were pleasant. Since there was a previous negative review about the front desk (addressed by management on this site), I presumed the situation was indeed taken care of although I did witness a certain front desk clerk consistently not being the most pleasant to customers.

The restaurant: Such wonderful ambience. The log construction of the building with the large real fireplace going was what you want if you were looking for the rustic experience. The Whiskey bar next door had the same warm ambience.
The wait staff were attentive. The food was very excellent. Kudos to the chefs. Our meal was pricey but delicious. Save your pennies, guys, if you want to impress her with a great romantic dinner. I thought the markup on bottles of wines was a bit outrageous: a $16 bottle of wine went for $49.

The unit: Lots of closet & drawers, double doors into bedroom allow for a WOW view of the lake from bed (we had a Deluxe Unit). The furniture is showing its age. Nice room configuration in general. No DVD or CD player in room – most places of this caliber have them now. Art work in rooms would be nicer is more representative of the area. Internet connectivity was dismal over the several days we were there; when we could get connected, it would drop after a very short period of time. Part of my decision to choose this hotel was that it had wireless internet. This hotel tries to bill itself as a conference resort too. As a business person, fix the internet problem.

Bathrooms: Our unit had 2 bathrooms: one with a shower and the second with a full bath. Minor but could use a hook on the back of the bathroom door for bathrobes, etc. Lighting in both bathrooms was too dull. Needs a secondary light for applying makeup or shaving. The one bathroom was infested with silverfish; not a hazard to people but a creepy-crawly feeling when you went in there and there were several running around the floor. I ran a bath about 7:00PM and hopped in only to find the water was only tepid. It reminded me of when we were in Mexico: everyone would leave the beach after 4 so between 5 & 7 there would be no hot water at the resort. Since everyone comes off of the slopes about that same time, I surmised that the same thing was happening. Thankfully, my husband heated a few pots of hot water on the stove for me while I shivered in the bath.

The Bed. My side of the bed was so hard that I woke up in the night because my side was aching. My husband’s side sagged so much that he said it felt like he was going to roll out. I wondered how the same mattress could have 2 opposing textures but he was right – when I sat on his side, it sagged like crazy. A previous review mentioned the same deficiency. I must concur that a better, pillow top mattress like many hotels have gone to would be a good investment for the hotel.

Would I return? Only if the major points like the mattress and internet were corrected. I so wanted to root for this resort but they have to try better for the price that they are charging.

Spent two nights at the Grand Lodge for our wedding anniversary. I had inquired about adding a little extra but did not pursue it. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find a complimentary half -bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates - a nice surprise.
The "sunset room" had a view of the forest. Clean and well equiped but not luxurious. Although we did not use the kitchen, it had has all the equipment to cook for 6 people. We took the meal package in the dining room. Dinner consists of a 4-course meal and we enjoyed everything we ordered. The quality and presentation of the food was very good. I would not hesitate to recommend dining here. The buffet breakfast offers the usual fare except for the waffles and the omelet prepared to order - truly delicious.
The hotel also has a bistro/bar where we stopped for drinks before dinner;.relaxed atmoshere with TV screens on the sports channel.
Located about 5 to 10 minutes from the Tremblant Resort. Worth the short drive for the peace and quiet.

We were seeking a quick escape from the city and this resort, with its peaceful natural lakeside setting met our needs more than the Village withi its theme park atmosphere.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, but there were some signs that the place is beginning to fray around the edges (e.g the mattresses sagged somewhat toward the middle and one day we had to wait almost until dinnertime to have our room made up.)

The food was decent, though the table d'haute somewhat overpriced. Nice breakfast buffet.

My biggest beef was with the beach area. For some reason they have swimming restricted to 4' depth. Even when the beach was deserted, an annoying lifeguard was hanging around the docks shouting at you not to go past the buoy line. This takes all the fun out of outdoor swimming and is really unfortunate, since this is one of the few resorts around Mont Tremblant with actual lake frontage.
