Not all Fairmonts are equal. We spent Christmas at the Fairmont in Montebello, which was a superior experience, and then went on to the Fairmont at Mont Tremblant (on the strength of the Fairmont reputation), which was mediocre at best. The Montebello hotel is architecturally stunning and the rooms are quaint and attractive, with rustic furnishings that are perfect for the building. The Mont Tremblant Fairmont is uninteresting architecturally and the rooms are reminiscent of a Holiday Inn.
The value for money at Montebello is good; Tremblant is outrageously over-priced.
Both hotels had attentive and helpful staff, but the dining room staff at Tremblant was just not in the same league as at Montebello. Also, we were forced to wait close to an hour for a snack in the bar at Tremblant. To be fair, the restaurant manager did not charge us for the food.

Good points about Tremblant:
Comfortable beds
Indoor-Outdoor swimming pools are fun
Polite and helpful staff

Bad points:
WiFi was pathetic.
TV remote control did not work.
Floors were DIRTY (to my mind this was the worst point). I called housekeeping to tell them that there were specks of black dirt on the bathroom floor and to ask them to vacuum in the corners of the bathroom, particularly behind the door where grunge had accumulated. The next morning, when putting on my shoes which I had partly tucked away under the bed, out came a piece of candy cane (not mine). I left it there thinking the maid would vacuum it up. While we were out the maid came to make up the room. On our return, the black specks were still on the floor in the bathroom and the candy remained on the rug in the bedroom. The grunge behind the bathroom door, however, was gone. The maid must have wiped it up by hand, since obviously the maids do not vacuum the floors regularly. I never saw a maid using a vacuum cleaner--for that matter I never saw a vacuum cleaner at all.

There are lots of good hotels at Tremblant and I intend to explore them in future. I would not return to the Fairmont and cannot recommend it.

This hotel is designed around skiers and their families. The ski valet and ski-in/ski-out saves much time and trouble. Service was pleasant and sincere and all the basics were readily available, such as free internet (club members), decent and prompt meals, warm fireplace and cozy nooks for apre ski, ski rental/valet/direct slope access, fitness center/indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs. The great ski conditions (end of December) and the Village were bonuses. There are some nice shops and restaurants in the village. Overpriced? Sure, but family ski resorts are generally not known for their value.

We stayed at the Fairmont Tremblant for 4 nights over Chistmas (2 adults and a 7-year old). We chose the Fairmont for its ski in/out location, and it was perfect. Our ski gear was taken by valet services as soon as we arrived, and it was very easy and convenient getting them from the ski valet each day.
Service from all staff was friendly, attentive and polite - valet, check-in, concierge, housekeeping, food. We appreciated that staff was bilingual and would switch to English upon hearing our very limited French.
Our room was very basic, but that was what we expected. We appreciated having lots of storage space for ski clothes in our room.
The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and the extra Christmas activities planned helped it to feel very festive (cookie decorating, visit from Santa). Loved Umi, the hotel dog.
We ate dinner one night in the lounge, and had Christmas Eve dinner buffet in the restaurant. The food was good, not outstanding, but good.We used the Wigwam Cafe in the Terrace level by the ski valet for breakfast, and snacks and lunch during skiing. It was extremely convenient to come in from skiing, and have lunch there, as opposed to going to the day lodges on the hill, which were packed with people.
Husband and son loved the outdoor pools; for me, they could have been hotter, especially with an outdoor temperature of -25!
We would definitely return to this hotel when skiing again at Tremblant. Customer service was excellent, and it was a beautiful place to spend the holidays.

Overall Fairmont offers great amenities in a great location. I stayed for 3 nights with 2 friends in a one bedroom suite overlooking the mountain. Valet unloaded the car, put our clothing in storage and brought our skis to the ski valet for easy pick up the next day. Spending over $400 a night it seemed a bit much to pay an additional $25 a night for valet parking that did not clean off the snow from the car, but they were friendly and courteous so, such is life. We went out snowmobiling and returned to find our luggage neatly placed in our room. The room was comfortable with nice features including a full kitchen but was missing a few items, including robes and the rollaway cot that was supposed to be in the room. Additionally, the room temperature stayed at a steady 72F despite having turned off the heat. If you like a room cooler, like we do you will have a challenge getting and keeping the right temp by opening and closing windows. While housekeeping was generally quick and responsive it took 3 phone calls to get the cot in the room including an attempt to pass off an inflatable mattress as a viable alternative to the cot. Additionally, upon check in we were not advised about or issued first track tickets, allowing for early lift access before the general public. We only found out about it later and when we asked were informed that they had it in the computer that we were issued those tickets. We also were not advised of the ice skating and sledding that was also included in our room rate. Once settled in the room Fairmont is a quick walk to all village activities. Fairmont has perhaps the best outdoor pool and hot tub accommodations for winter. The 3 large hot tubs and a large pool with varying water temperatures were perfect after a long day of skiing. Even in -10F, the outdoor aquatics were great! The only suggestion would be making the pool deck a little more cold weather hospitable. Heat lamps would go a long in keeping robes and towels warm while enjoying the hot tubs. Additionally, it is curios as to why when they build the facility they did not connect the indoor pool to the outdoor one. They are within 15 or so feet of each other and would make all the difference in the world. The pool staff could also be a little more vigilant in ensuing that children do not go into the 18+ hot tub. The pool crew was generous with towels and the shower facility was well designed and convenient. The sauna was out of order. The ski valet service was prompt and professional. I recommend getting any lift and rental services through the hotel so that you can fully take advantage of their on site services. It may be a few dollars more, but it will save you from having to get your items from the activity center. The hotel was very accommodating on the day we checked out, making it easy to leave our luggage in storage and use the facilities as well. The only snafu was that my skis were placed in someone else's bag, which was not discovered until we were back home. One phone call and the hotel was apologetic and put the ski bag in the mail with a return label for the wrong ski bag. Overall a great hotel in a great location. There are a few glitches in the system that if worked out would make it an excellent hotel.

Room Tip: Room 312 has a nice view of the pool and mountain and was quiet. Would appreciate more room options like a 1 bedroom suite with 2 double beds, instead of a queen or attached rooms with double beds as well.

Stayed overnight after a X-Mas Party. Truly enjoyed my stay. Went swimming in the outside heated pool at -31C while watching skiers going downhill. Quite an experience and contrary to my beliefs, I did not get sick. A classy hotel supplying robes and succulent food. Will return for sure.
wifi did not work unfortunately.

Room Tip: Looking the ski hills.
