“Very good right in the village”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 December 2011

We stayed in 2027. Location and value are amazing. It is a big chalet (2 bedrooms plus loft). It could be renovated but it is acceptable as it is. The kitchen is nice and the bathroom is fine. The carpets and the furniture could be replaced.
Overall a good place. We will be back.
Ps it is a ski out!

First off, when booking this condo, I read the reviews afterwards, and was pretty unsure of how it was going to be, but I must say, we had an amazing time. Myself, girlfriend and friend stayed there for 5nights, in room 2039 (a second floor condo). It was a good size, but 3 people was pushing it. Good sized kitchen, dishwasher (huge bonus) but could have had a few more plates kicking around, good fridge, stove, microwave. All around a very nice place to stay, easy access to the hill, just walk up the small hill, or be lazy like us and take the Cabriolet up.
Awesome spot for the money!

We stayed at the Condos La Chouette in unit 2028 and were pleasantly surprised at how spacious and bright the condo was. The condo was more than excellent, a superb newly remodeled 1-bedroom, with a fully equipped kitchen + bathroom. The owners have put a lot of money and time into the décor and the personal touches they have added make the unit very homey. Although we did not need it there was a fireplace which would make the condo very cozy on a cold winter night. It is only a short walk from the condo to the Pedestrian Village. The condo has complimentary high speed internet service and free parking outside your unit.
The Oesterle family has clearly worked very hard to provide a nice rental experience for their guests. The staff at check-in and out was very pleasant and professional. If we ever go back to Mount Tremblant we would definitely stay in this condo again.

Ok, I love tremblant and have stayed there many times at hotels and condos, but never have I had a horrible experience like when I stayed for 4 days during my spring break with a few friends. The location is great but thats about it. The unit was seriously TINY, not worth the money since I could have gotten a different one for virtually the same price tho it was a bit further away from the village. It was bad from upon arrival where it took FOUR HOURS to get into out room after check in time because it was not ready..there were many unhappy travelers along with us waiting aroud because their condos were not ready either. That was an annoyance but we dealt with it because sometimes these things happen. THEN, finally we get our room key, lug our pounds of ski and clothes stuff to the condo in the freezing cold and at the door our key does not work!!! We trudge back to the reception and the VERY rude woman refuses to serve us, all the while serving other people that "just have a question". Im sorry, you must serve all your customers no matter what their age is or if they have a question or a problem! When our key is re swiped they say it will work, we go back and it doesnt work AGAIN! we went back, Furious and they said they would send security (without an apology) and 45 min later we were in our room. Not a good start to vacation, 6 hours later after waiting in the cold. I would not go back here again simply because of the service, and you can get much better rooms for better prices without the hassle!!

Travel every year to Tremblant this had to be the worst accommadations ever!!! Units were not clean, aged and in desperate need of updates,,, No maid service .... When called for towels it took over 3 hours before they were delivered....

Who wants to clean on a ski weekend.

Unit was tiny. Also, everytime we turned on a hairdryer and lights, we blew a fuse. Unit was also dirty. We had booked thru the resort website. Resort tried to tell us they were fully booked but my wife said that if the Prime minister was coming, you would find him a room. Since he isn't- we'll take that one. The resort gave us a 1 bd rm loft for Xmas week in the St Bernard (very sweet) which was $1500 CAD more than the unit we were in. So if all you care about is the skiing and you absolutely can't afford anything else, go for it. Otherwise, just stay away. It isn't worth the hassle.

First off, if you get unit 2033, request a change ASAP. Unit 2033 is one of the smallest unit in the complex. More on this later.

Overall, the complex is geared toward the budget crowd, so do not expect anything more than the basics. The furnitures, carpeting, and beddings are all low quality (mostly IKEA) but they are functional.

We stayed at La Chouette Jan 8 to Jan 14, 2006. We initially were given unit 2033 for three people - two adult and one child. Unit 2033 was so small - livingroom (3 feet by 7 feet), dining area (3 feet by 3 feet), kitchen (2 feet by 7 feet), bath room (4 feet by 4 feet), bedroom (8 feet by 8 feet) - that we requested another unit immediately. The next day, we were given unit 2037, which is a two bedroom unit, for the price of the 1-bedroom unit that we paid for.

The unit 2037 was roomy but a smoking unit with some musty odor. However, after airing out the unit by opening all the windows and the door, it became livable. All units come with a usable kitchen that is fully stocked. However, you may want to check the kitchen stock since unit 2033 was missing a frying pan.

During out stay, nearly 50% of the units were vacant but the occupied units were predominately by singles, who slept after midnight, which disrupted our sleep.

Positives:
1. Inexpensive
2. Close to the lifts
3. Free parking
4. Lots of windows and skylights over the dining or living room area.
5. Feather pillows - a nice touch.
6. Plenty of storage space either in a closet or drawers.
7. Full kitchen with good sized refrigerator, dishwasher, and electric range.

Negatives:
1. Small bathrooms - 4 feet by 4 feet, slightly triangular shaped room (two people can not stand in the bathroom unless one person is standing in the tub).
2. Thin walls - If you have the lower unit like we did, be sure that the people in the upper unit are not all night partiers.
3. Thin curtains - It is so thin that anyone walking by can see through it, especially at night when you have your lights on.
4. Worn furnitures and carpets. Hey, what do you expect for the price?
5. No shampoos and one soap - BRING YOUR OWN.

The unit can be a good place to stay if you keep the following in mind:
1. Keep your expectations for quality on the low side (like Howard Johnson's) and you won't be disappointed.
2. Bring your own shampoos, soap, hand towels.

Additional:
- There is no internet connection in any of the La Chouette units. INternet access is free but, to use the internet, you have to go to the Montague Lobby, which is a bit of a hassle (a 3 min walk).

- There is one small gneral store in the village that sells beer, bread and other basic groceries but it is expensive. Best option is to drive to Rt. 117 and buy your supplies in a major grocery store.

- If you are driving up from the US, fill up your gas tank before crossing into Canada. $2.65 per gallon in NYS seems high but it is cheaper than 0.95$CAN per liter (roughly $3 per gallon) in Canada.

- We've eaten at two restaurants - Pizza and La Shack. The pizza at La Shack is much better but both places have very thin, almost bisquet like crust. Prices are not cheap - lunch for two with glass of beer came out to 32$CAN (approx.$27). If you are from NYC, then the price is not a shocker.

Mt. Tremblant is a nice small-ish mountain (but big for eastern Canada) with short lines. Enjoy your stay there. We may go back but if we do, we will stay somewhere else - perhaps the Marriott.
