“Very clean and quiet!!!”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

It was my first time to visit Mt. Tremblant and stayed at this Refuge B&B - the place is so nice & clean - very quiet. The owner is very accommodating. it is a walking distance to the village (probably around 20 mins.) which is good if you would like to exercise. There is an Italian restaurant close by. i would love to stay at this place if ever i decided to go back in Mt. Tremblant.

I felt very fortunate to get to stay here. Well-priced and possibly the best deal in MT. Obviously if you're on TA you already know this place is solid. I'm from Texas and stayed here for the 2014 Ironman Mont Templant 70.3, and to me this was the ideal spot that I would absolutely stay at again if I'm ever lucky enough to come back to this remarkable community. If it's available, book it.

The host, Robert, is their best asset, but everything else is top-notch as well. The website is bilingual, so that was nice. I reserved the Room Montagne (#4), which I believe is their most affordable option and smallest room. It's perfect for a solo traveler or a couple that doesn't plan to spend much time in the room. It might also work if you're with kids and can reserve them the room next door (#5). It's also at the top of the stairs (three storied), which is usually not a problem for non-Americans or light travelers.

Do a little research- you're probably doing that right now- and you'll find that as remarkable as MT is, the lodging situation is pretty absurd for high-demand weekends, and that's even if you can get a room at all. If you're willing to stay a little bit outside the Village (old or new), you can find some good value and I believe Refuge is one of the best. Note that it is about a 15-minute walk to the beach (swim start) and will take about a half-hour walk to the Village (race transitions). That was fine with me, but if you're with kids or are not fit this will seem like a hike. If you plan to travel back and forth to the Village more than once a day it might be an issue.

The unit is very clean and comfortable. My room had a great view of MT. Your own bathroom is only two steps away across the hall. So it's not connected but is probably nicer than your own back home- a big tub and a shower. Bed is very comfortable, room comes with a TV and college-doom fridge. Rooms are lightly turned every two days. Wi-Fi is accessible and fast. Room will be snug if you have gear (bike, skis, etc.) but the patio is sufficient and has nice views as well. No closet, and the clothing armoire is small. If there is more than one occupant, then you're going to have to compromise or improvise with luggage. There's just not a ton of space in here, so if you need it choose a different room. People like me are thrilled to save a few bucks for less space.

Robert is bilingual, very honest, very helpful and always accessible. The shared kitchen is as nice as I've seen and perfect for travelers- well stocked, clean and lots of equipment (Keurig, filtered water, full fridge, multiple microwaves). The grounds are nice and they even have a hammock and several separate patio areas just a few steps from the door. It's a safe and idyllic environment, perfect for women. And it's right off the Ironman run course so that's a plus. It seems best for travelers who are seasoned, value-conscious and/or solo or with one other person. A team or group that could get all the rooms would feel like they hit the jackpot. Highly recommended.

First of all i would like to point out that we visited Mont Tremblant and The Refuge by summer 2010 but the tool does not allow me to enter any older date.

Being said that here it comes the review.

We spent just one night on our road trip through the east coast of Canada (Toronto, Montreal, Quebec, etc...) but as outdoor lovers we had to visit Mt Tremblant to hike around.
We found in The Refuge the perfect place for a short stay but i have to say that i wis we could have stayed longer.
The b&b itself is a bit far from the village itself (you will not probably want to go walking to the village) but on the other hand is just almost in the forest which is a plus for me when you want to stay near the nature.
We loved the outside of the hotel as well as the interior. Very cozy and wooden made. The room we had was big enough for two people and their luggage with a small balcony to seat and relax facing the forest.
The bed was very confortable and we had no issue with the temperature whatsoever.
One of the best points is the breakfast. Homemade with style and very very high quality. We really enjoyed it.
I would recommend it without any doubt.

Room Tip: If you want a very large room go for the penthouse suite, but really, any room is very good.

We stayed in "Suite Tremblant" root and it was an amazing experience. The room is much bigger than it seems on the pictures.

Suite is two-level, with a classy bathroom and showers on the ground level and bedroom upstairs. The jacuzzi is just enough for two people. The decor is interesting and adds to the overall atmosphere. The reception and service from the owner of the chalet was warm and attentive.

Definitely recommended!

This was our second stay at The Refuge, my husband and I. We stayed at La Grande Suite. The suite is really big, the decoration is beautiful!!! If I should criticize something is the lack of tub in the washroom, instead of a tube it has a shower, a really small one. Nevertheless the room is incredible good!!!
The service is awesome, the owner Roberto is always available to help you. Everything is very clean, very organize and you realize that every small detail is thought for you to have a pleasent stay.
The breakfast is wonderfull too, a great variety of foods, milk, jus, cheese, braid, eggs, fruits, all you need t have a great breakfast.
We totally recommend you this place if you want to have a great stay in Mont Tremblant.

My Fiance and I stayed in the mountain room for three days. I was a little concerned about the "continental breakfast" not being substantial enough, but I was very wrong! Each day i was able to eat delicious eggs, sausage, and french toast, (with a little microwaving). Robert (the property owner/manager) was extremely helpful, and provided fantastic recommendations for dinners and activities.

Overall a great experience.
