Description: One of the most popular restaurants in Tremblant’s pedestrian village, Le Shack stands on the original site of the Chalet des Voyageurs, built by the legendary Joe Ryan in 1939 at the foot of the south side of Mont Tremblant. Philadelphia-born Joe Ryan was an eccentric millionaire and a visionary. With encouragement from his wife Mary and a parish priest, Father Deslauriers, Ryan founded the second ski resort in North America: Mont Tremblant Resort. During the 1940s and 50s, the Chalet des Voyageurs was the preferred meeting place of skiers, who’d congregate after a day on the slopes to swap stories with friends. With its warm and cozy atmosphere, Le Shack carries on this tradition of offering the best après-ski in Tremblant. The “Shack” – so named for the Quebec “sugar shack” in tribute to the longstanding tradition of shacks erected for the spring maple syrup season – recreates the spirit of good times with good friends. To honour Joe Ryan and perpetuate the tradition of the sugar shack, the folks at Resto-Bar Le Shack welcome you for your après-ski gatherings at the foot of Mont Tremblant.

“Food tasted like it was out of a can and very bland”
Reviewed 1 August 2014 via mobile

The service is horrible and food no better than what you could find in a food court setting. The beer was good and cold but that is the only thing positive about this over priced joint. They have a good location but there are many other places with a good view and good food in the area.

“Long standing resto ”
Reviewed 29 July 2014 via mobile

The Shack has been at the base of the hill forever. Visited in low summer months (strange since so beautiful) but very quiet. Traditional pub grub and beer. Servers are pleasant all young and earning a living. The food was fine and quick.

“Well, the views were excellent:)”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

Le Shack sits at the base of Mt. Tremblant, with a sterling view up on the main slope, and a rustic interior with lots of TVs blaring sports. It's a captured site, meaning it's one of several restaurant choices in Tremblant resort where tourists, skiers (in the winter, obviously) and vacationers are going to stop purely for locale and accessibility reasons. All good so far. And, if you just drop your expectations on what you're hoping for in terms of food, service and experience, you'll be fine. Starting with food...this is standard tavern food/sports bar fare, with little creativity and even less flavor. There are some accommodations made to local favorites (poutine), but generally it's exactly what you'd expect to see at any hometown bar and done in mediocre fashion. I'm still learning how French Canadians translate some American pub dishes, like nachos at Le Shack are a plate of tortilla chips straight from the bag strewn across a plate with not a shred of cheese and grocery store salsa HEATED. Value at Tremblant is always dicey as the place is across-the-board well overpriced on everything, and the same follows suit at Le Shack. To give credit...our waitress was a veteran of the resort food wars and was a model of solder-like efficiency, speaking fluent French and English and generally acting like a fire could break out and she wouldn't have shifted personality very much. I'm always surprised by places like this, because the keys to ensuring a better eating experience for customers isn't a tough next bar to ascend on the ladder, but there is an embedded "ah, we're doing well enough" that presides at Le Shack and related restaurants. You'll leave full, but already looking forward to a better dining experience somewhere else next time.

“Terrible food”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

We were referred to this restaurant by a fellow foodie so I was extremely puzzled when I saw my nachos. Mozzarella cheese was barely melted. Why mozzarella!!? Loads on weird topping:black olives, banana peppers and a side generic salsa from a grocery store....
Tourist trap food... Too bad...
