Three storey guest house, you need good legs! Hostess delightful, friendly and helpful.
Our first room was rather dark, no coffee facilities, no tv, and no long mirror, a trifle basic for 160 dollars a night. We moved to a second room which was much better, I understand rates were higher on that room, but we were charged the same.
The chef chooses the breakfast menu, not the guests, if you don't like it, tough, sorry, that is the only choice. He does decorate you plate though, with pretty pieces of fruit.
Just to warn visitors from th uk, debit cards are not taken here, only visa and master card credit,or cash, nothing else.
Once again, we could not fault the wonderful friendly attitude of Cindy , but maybe the addition of a breakfast menu, and a tv in all rooms might help!

My wife chose this inn based on positive reviews and she was right! The owners Cindy and Pete make you feel like they've invited you to their home, and are very knowledgeable about the area. The rooms are spacious, and tidy, and comfortable for a 107-year old home. The breakfast was better than any I'd had at any restaurant on our trip so far! You'll love staying here!

We have never been treated so well at a bed and breakfast. Pete and Cindy were more like friends or family rather than hosts. Our room was beautiful and the breakfast was the best we had in Nova Scotia. Don't let the location fool you. Lunenburg isn't that big and you are a quick(5 minute) walk, or even quicker (2 minute) drive to downtown and there is always plenty of parking both at the Inn and downtown, we never had a problem. The location also provides for very peaceful nights away from restaurants and bars letting out. The Inn is immaculate and provides for excellent privacy. We even had our own balcony to enjoy cool summer breeezes and even an evening sharing a drink with Pete and Cindy. Returning to the Inn after a day of exploring the Lunenburg area was like going home and we both soon started to refer to it as that. Speaking of exploring, Pete and Cindy were a wealth of information on things to do and see in the area. We took their advice on everything they suggested we do and were never disappointed. From having lunch at the leHave bakery to dinner at the Knot Pub to searching for sand dollars at Sand Dollar Beach (we found one, apparently Cindy has all the others LOL) to exploring The Ovens(nothing to do with Pete's kitchen). When we left it felt like we were leaving family and we told Pete and Cindy so. We found nothing else to compare during the rest of our Nova Scotia Vacation and we missed our easy conversations with our new friends.

Sincerely David and Diana

P.S. we miss Maggie (Magoo) too. and Diana says thanks for the ice and all the other little extras.

We had the very good fortune of having friends recommend the Arbor View to us. We were only able to spend three nights with Pete and Cindy at their gorgeous home, but it was long enough for us to realize that we have never stayed at a better bed and breakfast. Truly wonderful people, in a quiet hillside mansion. Don't be fooled by the location. The historic Old town is a 5 minute walk from your home away from home. Even better, its about 3 minutes to the Knot Pub.
Pete and Cindy's hospitality may only be bettered by Pete's phenomenal breakfasts. Dont miss this one!

Room Tip: All of the rooms we viewed looked wonderful, but we splurged and stayed in the Annapolis Suite.and w...

Our family of four (two kids: 6 & 11), spent a luxurious night at the Arbor View Inn, on our tour of the coastal towns, south of Halifax. The owners were very welcoming, even to the kids, indicating that they did not understand why other B&B's, discourage children. The accomodations were superb. Our room had a huge and fluffy, four poster, queen bed for my wife and I, with a pull-out sofa for the kids, across the room, and a huge tub in the bathroom (along with a separate shower). Our room had its own entrance, albeit up more than a few stairs, and our own deck. The breakfast featured home-made blueberry pancakes, bacon and fresh fruit (including kiwi). Easily the best bed and the best breakfast, we had on our 8 day tour of Nova Scotia and PEI. The grounds have plenty of room for the kids to run outside, and some picture worthy plants grace the area. The only con might be that the location is on the outskirts of and on the way to Lunenburg, as opposed to in town, but at less than a five minute drive to the little town, the location shouldn't keep anyone away. If you're planning that same coastal drive, you would be foolish to pass up the Arbor View Inn.

My Husband and I chose to spend our Anniversary at the "Arbor View" and were not disappointed! We chose the Annapolis Suite on the top floor, what a wonderful spacious room! We loved the victorian furniture, and the jet tub was a big plus! The soft warm robes were my favorite! I must say that the inn keepers were not intrusive at all! During our yummy breakfast we asked our host Cindy, if she could recommend a nice place for a hike. She said that she thought we might enjoy "Hurtle Beach". What a beautiful place and the veiw was magnificent! Cindy also recommended that we have lunch at the LaHave bakery, which was delicious! At the end of the day when we came back to the Inn it was so peaceful, we could have slept for hours!

Cindy & Pete are such an absolute pleasure and truly made us feel at home in Lunenburg. Their heritage home was beautiful, impeccable and welcoming. Three nights of great sleep, and waking up to the most incredible breakfasts. They're a great example to other B&Bs and definately exceeded our expectations. Not to mention - they've got a great sense of humour and know how to make a perfect pot of tea at the end of a long day. Would gladly recommend them to anyone travelling to the area.
