We braved a blustery walk from our hotel to where she was docked, and so glad we made the effort. We were the only ones there, and chatted with Scott.....such an icon!

We have been to Lunenberg twice in the past 2 years and both times the Bluenose II was in dry dock. We had included Lunenberg in our travel plans this year because we were under the impression (by the website) the the Bluenose repairs would have been completed by the time we arrived. We could see it from a distance...but it would sure have been nice to see her in the water! Oh well, I hope I will be able to return to Nova Scotia again one day and maybe will be a little luckier. There are still lots of other things to do in Lunenberg, and we had an amazing time there.

Well worth a look when in Lunenburg, would be nice to be able to go on board, even better to go out on her!

We had gone to Lunenburg to see the Bluenose among other thing (the ship at the back of the 0.10cts coin). Unfortunately, it was at sea. We will probably try in a future trip. The rest of the city offers mostly nothing to see or do but few sheds still making ships the traditionnal way.

The story of the Bluenose and the resurrection of the Bluenose II was quite interesting. We wish them all the luck in getting this beauty sailing.
