Young re-enactors give this museum life - fascinating displays give a real feel of the town's beginnings.

“A nice little house museum”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

Lots of different things to see -- clothing, Bibles, historic rooms. The two young women working there were pleasant and informed. Admission was free on the day we stopped by.

“One of the first”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

This is a great old house where two of the more influential families of Lunenburg lived - during the time that Lunenburg was a very important city. The house has furniture from time period though none that were original to the two families. The house has also been set up for other historic "partners": a room with an old loom where a costumed volunteer shows how weaving was done and an archive/genealogy group for the area. There are displays of clothing of the era too. Well worth the visit

“Step back in time”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

An old house complete with furniture and costumes of the day. One of the back rooms has a loom where a volunteer was making some place mats. There are blankets, rugs and other items that have been woven hanging from the walls.
Upstairs there is a genealogy department to track your ancestry. Costumed staff are on hand to answer your questions.
