Very authentic home. Susie and Barry a wealth of information of the area and to our next destination. They were very wonderful hosts. The location is perfect to walk around the town and easy to get in and out of for driving. The rooms had queen size beds with private 3 piece bathrooms. The pool was refreshing to swim in. We enjoyed the guest living room for a game of scrabble and my daughter played a few songs on the piano. Breakfast was fresh fruit, yogurt, dry cereals, coffee, tea, orange juice, homemade crepes with fresh fruit and crisp bacon. Will recommend Maplebird B&B to all that ask where to stay when travelling in Nova Scotia.

Room Tip: Wonderful rooms, thank you.

Such a lovely old house. Very clean. Our room had a queen size bed and a full spacious ensuite. The guest living room had television, dvd player (with a variety of movies). There were games and even a piano. Rhe breakfast was wonderful with lots of fresh fruit and great coffee. Crepes was the main course. The hosts were wonderful and very informative with plenty of tourist recommendations. It was a great stay.

We spent a night at the 1826Maplebird with hosts Barry and Susie. The house is obviously old (from the name) but doesn't feel like it in terms of comfort. Our room was clean and, though not spacious (it's an old house) large enough for two of us and our many bags. Comfortable bed and modern bath fixtures. But the highlight was the breakfast: home baked scones, a delicious fruit bowl with optional yoghurt, dry cereal and French toast. We were delighted with the French toast. Great presentation, flavor and crispness! Barry handles the business end, Susie runs the kitchen.

Barry and Susie go to great lengths to make their home welcoming and comfortable to guests, and breakfast is excellent. The location is perfect for visiting all the sites in, and around, Lunenburg, and despite being right in the hub of the town, the garden is a haven of tranquillity.

Great place, great location, great hosts. Sorry that we couldn't have stayed longer to find out our hosts' real personalities. We know now why people should spend more than one night in Lunenburg. Was fun visiting with Barry on his veranda & meeting Susie for breakfast, which was super. Fun meeting people from England & Switzerland. Thanks for the advice on the Fishery's Museum & the route to Peggy's Cove. Worked out real well. If ever in the the area again would for sure stay. Highly recommend.
