“Great experience in quaint location”

Very clean and well maintained property in a quaint/remote area. Breathtaking views from all decks! The property description is accurate. I'd recommend this house to anybody for a vacation!

“The perfect getaway!”
Reviewed 12 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We had a wonderful time staying at Skyview in LaHave for our summer vacation this year. The views were incredible and if you just want to get away from it all, this is the place to be. As advertised and the owner was very attentive in getting back to us as well as providing some great information as to the local area attractions. We especially enjoyed the LaHave Bakery, and driving on Crescent beach! I would go back in a heart beat if/when we have the chance.

“Great spot for a quiet April retreat”
Reviewed 23 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We visited SkyView in mid-April. Booking the property was quick and easy. We were provided with very accurate and detailed directions and instructions which covered situations that we did and might run it. The building was very suitable for us - a group of women friends who wanted to get away, go for walks, and sit and chat. The main room has a lovely set of windows and over our weekend we were able to watch a variety of weather systems move across horizon. Although the weather didn’t allow us to take advantage of the deck, I could see that it would be lovely to sit out on it. The kitchen was well stocked and everything was in working order. Internet worked well. The place was clean. Our only concern was the early check-out time, which Mont explained was required to allow time to prepare for the next guests. Since there were no guests arriving after us, and it was during the shoulder season, he kindly allowed us to stay a bit longer.

“SkyView is heaven”
Reviewed 7 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

SkyView is completely magical. That about says it all, but I'll share some more details. Mont is a wonderful, attentive, communicative, generous host who clearly loves and cherishes SkyView and his other property just down the hill. The house and property are warm, welcoming and filled with love and history while being thoroughly updated. You can just tell upon entering that this has been the site of the creation of many fond memories. Make sure to read the framed greeting on the wall just inside the main door; it communicates the full spirit of the place and its stewards. The views are spectacular, as shown in the pictures. If feels from every space as though you are on a ship riding the seas. Particularly from the master bedroom, it's like being on a ship's prow. We were there during a big nor'easter, and it stayed dramatic and rainy for most of our 9-day stay. We couldn't have been more snug or in a better place to enjoy watching the elements in motion. The wood-burning stove is great for keeping things toasty. The wifi is excellent, which is surprising for being such a secluded location. And we very much enjoyed the ping-pong table. The kitchen is a cook's dream, completely stocked and spacious for large groups. The space is completely expansive in every way. Regarding the LaHave Islands, we have been to much of Nova Scotia and to many rugged coastal spots around the world, and this is one of the most spectacular and special spots on earth. We were felt very lucky to have been led to SkyView, especially as the reason for our trip was significant since we were hosting one of our online international Weeks of World Cooperation. It is a very sacred and meditative time of service and connection with the world, humanity and the environment for us, and SkyView and the islands couldn't have been more cooperative, caring and flowing partners in that endeavor. It was completely quiet and beautifully secluded and still and yet so dynamic in the weather. Risser's Beach just down the road on the mainland is equally magical with its marsh boardwalk and rocky coastline, and we went there almost every day, even in the very cold, wild weather. It was like being on our own planet. SkyView was also a great location from which to explore the entire southern coastline and lighthouse route, as well as Halifax. The LaHave Bakery is just minutes away and a welcoming, friendly, local haven for hot drinks and fresh food. We had to tear ourselves away from SkyView!

“Warming Winter Getaway”
Reviewed 7 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Sometimes you just need to get out of the city. Skyview was the perfect escape for me and three friends! A little snow didn't stop us from getting up the driveway, right to the front door of the house. It was warm and clean, and we immediately lit a fire in the woodstove to get cozy. It was really easy to play our own music over the speakers as we cooked dinner and enjoyed a glass of wine. And lucky for us, even though we forgot some spices, Mont keeps them well stocked! The next morning, we drove to Crescent Beach and walked its entire length before coming back to relax by the fire. Maybe the very best part: sitting on the balcony and watching the stars come out among the trees!

Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us, Mont!
