We enjoyed 3 nights here at the beginning of our 3 weeks touring Nova Scotia.
Lunenburg is a lovely town - very steep streets and some beautiful historic buildings .The Addington is one of those buildings- hence steep steps to the front door and several stairs to the rooms! However it's worth the climb!! The Heritage Suite was beautiful - comfortable bed and going to sleep to the sound of the ocean was lovely( a recorded sound on a tiny machine!! )
The sitting room was very comfortable and had a huge TV , a selection of DVD 's ,a fridge .
The bathroom was great with a steam shower - super soft towels too.
The whole house has an amazing collection of art work and has a wonderful homely feeling .
Chris and Dan are great hosts and the breakfasts are superb- probably the best we had in 3 weeks!
Would recommend the Addington and Lunenburg as great places. Just be prepared for stairs as this is a historic building and Lunenburg a Unesco site -- well worth visiting!
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- The Addington Arms B&B sits atop 2 fine art galleries and atop the six square block historic district of this UNESCO world heritage site, affording ocean views from all of our suites and room. Shopping, dining and exploring are all just steps outside your front door. We are not your typical B&B but more akin to a boutique hotel, with stocked mini fridges, TV's and en-suite steam-rooms with aroma therapy or an air-jet tub in very spacious surroundings. On-site parking is available as street parking is problematic in the summer months. Our breakfasts are as memorable as the town of Lunenburg itself. ... more less
