A beautiful historic house just a short (2 min) walk to everything Lunenburg has to offer. The house and grounds were very well maintained by the owners John and Lynn. The accommodations were a very relaxing place to hang out after busy day trips in Lunenburg and the surrounding towns.
Breakfasts were a highlight of the stay. Everything was made from scratch and there was plenty of delicious food. I recommend planning on late lunches. If you leave the table hungry, it's your own fault.
John and Lynn are very friendly and provide guests with historical information as well as points of interests to visit in the area.
This is my second trip to Lunenburg and the third B&B there that I've stayed. It is by far the best of the three and I am looking forward to my next stay with them.

We stayed a quick night on our way to Cape Breton Island- and really enjoyed all aspects of staying here. Our room was spacious, clean, nicely decorated and very quiet. The hosts were welcoming, gracious and very informative. Breakfast was more than good- eggs, sausage, potatoes, beans, stewed apples, yogurt, toast, fresh oj, coffee, tea, etc. all really tasty! John and Lynn made sure we had all the information needed to head out for our day. Great value and perfect location! Highly recommend!l

The Ashlea House is a great location for visiting Lunenburg, only a few minutes walk from the Harbour front. We liked the stylish ambience of the house (some antique furniture from Lynn's family) with a big living room for the guests. Our room was spacious and we slept well in a comfortable bed. Well, our room was in the 1st floor without Harbour view, but we did not miss that. The greatest thing was Lynn's and John's breakfast which they prepared freshly and they considered our personal wishes. Delicious!
And if you like dogs, Schooner will also like you. Sympatic third member of the Management :-)
