“Perfect cabin in beautiful setting”
Reviewed 3 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Thrilled at our decision to rent this cabin. It was even better than the pictures/description! We arrived just after sunset to soft music and mood lighting...how thoughtful. The cabin was so cozy and had everything we needed for our 5 night stay. John was extremely helpful and friendly. Field is convenient to many tourist spots and, important to us, countless hiking trails. We will remember our visit to Banff and our stay here for years to come.

“A must stay location.”
Reviewed 20 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This was the ideal stay over for us. A home away from home with everything you could want. Ideal location for us, it was quiet, close to Banff and other attractions. John the owner is very pleasant and helpful, this is great value and a must stay in a quaint, quiet little town.

Highly recommended and would not hesitate staying again.

We love everything about the Burgess Lookout Cabin! It is exquisite! The decorating is beautiful, the hardwood floors are wonderful, the bed so comfy, and the kitchen well stocked. There is even a cheese grater and coffee grinder! The view out the window is beautiful, and the town of Field is so quaint and friendly. The cross country skiing is unbelievable, and I miss is already! I just got home tonight, but couldn't wait to write about the wonderful week we had! John is so nice to work with and we count him as a friend since we have stayed at this cabin other years. Life in a fairy tale for a week! I hope to return sometime in the next few years.

On a recent unforgettable three week holiday to Canada we had the pleasure to stay at this property.
It was quite simply superb in every respect and in a quite stunning location.
John the proprietor was very helpful with any questions we had and it was obvious that
he put's a great deal of both attention and passion into this enterprise.
We would dearly love to return to the Rockies again at some time in the future and will
certainly be including this cabin into our itinerary again

“Beautiful, quiet - perfect base for exploring the best of Banff /Yoho national parks.”

We were very sorry to leave this charming, beautifully appointed cabin in its own little garden after 3 nights.High quality fittings and furnishings, very well supplied for self catering,a charming patio.A real little haven to come back to.Nice books and even bear bells for hiking! We were 15 mins drive to the best areas : Lake O'Hara parking area, 15 mins to Emerald Lake,20 -25 mins to Lake Louise village and about the same to Bow Lake as the very small town(really a village) of Field is right on the Trans Canada highway. This made the village itself a bit noisy and quite 'hemmed in' given the mountains and constantly busy road and railway line, but the Cabin is right up at the edge of the mostly attractive houses, beside the forest so the noise is minimal. When you think what you get in the pricey hotels in Lake Louise village etc this Cabin blows them all out of the water, in my view. There is so little available in the National Parks re self catering unless you go to these huge chalet parks (which we also did during our holiday),an experience that just doesn't compare with this lovely place.I would add that there were roadworks on the Highway near Field while we were there that were a bit of a pest re. delays during peak times, but this was a small price to pay for such an excellent base. One minor warning - if you're in a rush sometimes to get out,as we were one monring trying to catch the Lake O'Hara bus, build in plenty time to leave Field as if a train goes through -as they do often - it can take 15 mins to get through the level crossing.

“The best place I've ever stayed while on vacation!!!”
Reviewed 29 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

This cabin is stunning! At the edge of town and up the hill so it is very quiet and private! Absolutely immaculate. It truly felt like a home away from home. My husband and I stayed there for a week in July and it wasn't long enough. We were sad to leave. John has thought of everything. You just need to bring yourself, your clothes and groceries. I honestly can't say enough about the cabin and John. His communication was wonderful throughout the entire booking process and he answered any questions I had about the area. If you're not sure about staying in Field, you should definitely consider it. It is only 20 minutes from Lake Louise and convenient to all of the great hiking in Yoho as well. It was the perfect location for us! And you get your own piece of paradise in the woods for 1/2 the price of anything in Lake Louise or Banff! If we ever make it back to the gorgeous Rockies, we will definitely stay in John's beautiful cabin. Thank you, John!!
