“Winner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 September 2013

We ate all over British Columbia and Alberta. The burgers here were the best thing we ate. Not sure why. Might have been the sauce. Might have been the hispter hippy hikers. Whatever. Go. Have a Burger. They're good.

“Charming, delicious, authentic. It's one-of-a-kind.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2013

I absolutely love stopping at The Siding. Aside from the delicious espresso and excellent, fresh, and healthy food, the place is steeped in personality. Yes, you can pick up the odd basic here for groceries but the food is the main event, followed closely by the quirky selection of artisan gifts ranging from collapsible flower vases, to gorgeous thermal mugs, to colourful bandannas, and other fun stuff. Drop in for a big, crusty/moist muffin and a cool drink. Or stay for a hot Americano and a sit-down lunch that is contemporary, fresh, and totally unpretentious. If you're looking for the authentic mountain experience Field, B.C. is where it's at.

“Perfect for a quick bite”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2013

Stopped here in the AM for some take-out sandwiches before we hit the trail. Staff was very accomodating to make lunch (even though they were serving breakfast). Such a cute spot! We browsed the gift shop while waiting. Sammies were terrific - fresh and savory. Picked up some sweets too (thumbs up on the carrot cake).

“What a delightful spot to stop on the Trans Canada Hwy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2013

Wow. The village of Field is a "must stop" on your road trip through the Kicking Horse Pass. It has a European storybook feel. Every quaint home has lovely gardens bursting with colour and charm. We were at the Information Centre in Yoho National Park enquiring about camping at the Kicking Horse Campground. The very helpful staff person recommended The Siding Restaurant, just across the highway in Field. It is positively charming. Very casual - you place your order from the chalkboard menu and pay before finding a table inside or out. Outside tables of course offer a jaw-dropping view of the Rockies that are so close that you can reach out and touch them :). The lunch arrives with a smile and my salad is heaped with garden fresh mouth watering greens. It is a meal in itself and very satisfying. We were on a 6-week road trip and it is always such a treat to get such a fresh meal made with loving care. This place may only be an hour or so from Lake Louise, but do not drive by! Stop in and savour this little gem. You will not be disappointed.
