We were in Auckland for a wedding on the North Shore therefore it was convenient. It was clean and quiet we had room 3 so it was not right on the road. It was not large but comfortable enough for two, it was what I call a bedsit with the bed and lounge and kitchen table in the one room -and the kitchen had all that we needed to be able to prepare our own food. We needed to use the dryer but were unable to get this to work, but managed to use the iron to dry the shirt :-). The staff were pleasant and helpful. Had own carpark right outside the room. I often have problems with beds being not good for my back BUT this was a pleasant surprise and I had a good sleep. Very close to a hospital and petrol station and shopping close by, easy to get to from off the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

We stayed one night in an upstairs 1 bedroom unit. ($190/night for 2 adults and 2 children). It was close to the shops at Takapuna, and only a very short drive to Takapuna Beach. Having dual access to the bathroom was great for kids! (They slept in the lounge). Everything was clean and tidy. However, there was no peeler, bowl or grater - quite unusual for a full kitchen unit with an oven! Would stay again, however would have to bring a few kitchen items (unless the motel owners stock the kitchen a bit better).

We were a group of 5 friends who stayed in the 2 bedroom unit. It had everything we needed for our overnight stay. The unit was fresh and clean and the beds were comfortable. We will definitely use it again when in that area.

This hotel is quite basic. The decor and exterior are quite dated, definitely not the four stars as advertised. The microwave oven didn't work, and they offer no meals at all, not even a slice of toast for breakfast!! However, they do provide plunger coffee which is a huge bonus...although enough for one cup. Wouldn't recommend as Auckland has some much better hotels, but probably ok for overnighting.

Room Tip: Away from the busy main road

Our two basketball teams were well accommodated. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely people there. They didn't mind us rearranging the rooms to suit the players. The use of the conference/dining room made such a difference to our team. The rooms are fresh, clean and well laid out with everything you need to cook your own meals. Great sized fridges/freezers as well. Very comfortable beds, even the sofa beds are of a good quality. The location is excellent for sports teams with most gyms within 5-10 minutes drive. The highlight was the delivery of Easter eggs, by the gorgeous little boy, to all our rooms. The teenage girls thought this was very cute! This is our second stay and both times we have been very pleased.

This motel looks a bit dated when you first arrive and was probably built in the 70s. However, don't let that put you off. The rooms are fully kitted out with modern bathroom and kitchenette. There is enough space although TV needs to be wall mounted for best effect. The staff were friendly and helpful. We used the BBQ and could have used the pool and spa that were available. We were next door to a couple who had stayed there on six separate occasions which speaks for itself. It's not that far from Auckland so it makes a good alternative to staying in the city if you have a car. Only slight downside was having to pay for Wifi. These days it should be free wherever you stay. However if you factor in that cost, it's still not dear.

Room Tip: It's near a main road so try for room at the back

Basic motel but well situated and facilities are what is expected. Is usually cheaper than the much nicer Emerald Inn. Last time we were there, however, someone was doing some very noisy repairs outside our room in the morning. No apologies for disturbing us or any explanation for why the repairs could not have waited until we had checked out.
