After our 35th year on week 28 we again, enjoyed our Beautiful Fairmont. Our children are asking if we don't want to go to Fairmont they would take the week for us. LOL. Two families bought a unit and the cousins have grown so close after so many years. There is so much to do and the one thing they missed so much this time was the spill off pool under the big Fairmont pool. It was damaged in last years massive flood.
We have seen changes and upgrades over the years. The previous managers did a fantastic job of keeping our Maint. Fees down by not going so extravagant on changes. The last few years they have been going up under the new management. That is perhaps our only complaint.
As far as the location, facilities and friendly staff you cannot beat this Resort.
Each year we like to know if there are changes happening, what is new, and spend a little time with the representatives there. This year we met with Kathy Sutherland who wanted to update us on the new Point System available to the villa owners. We learned a lot from her as she explained every aspect of this system. This Lady did a fantastic job and as the week progressed we engaged in a few more visits. I wish all of the Time Share People were like Kathy. Please take the time to learn more about this resort and enjoy!

Room Tip: Mountain side is more rustic and so much more private and quiet than Riverside.

This is a great location from which to access the Hot Springs, golf courses (excellent), hiking trails, scenery (superb) and restaurants. The Hot Springs are within walking distance as is the local golf course.
The Villas are clean, well maintained, located adjacent to a golf course and a community facility which offers evening get togethers, aqua size, tennis etc.. The down side is if you are staying in the loft and the outside temps are high (35C/95F when we were there) you must have a fan to sleep; the lower level cools off quite nicely in the evenings even during a very hot day. The bed was extremely comfortable as was the pillow, so it was unfortunate that it was so hot for sleeping.
The Villas are dated and in need of updating, but they are clean and well maintained, so this is not a big issue.
You are within 30 minutes of world class golf courses with great scenery and lots of wild life ... we saw deer, quail and wild turkeys. There is also an excellent beach, within 30 minutes, at Invermere, with lots of parking. Ideal for couples and families as there are lots of things to keep the kids occupied. Villa staff are very friendly and very accommodating; overall a well managed facility.
Many people that we spoke to have been coming here for up to 30 years, they have great family memories and now their children are enjoying the experience.
Overall a great experience and we would return in a heart beat.
Would have no hesitation recommending Mountainside Villas to friends.

Room Tip: If your room is on the main floor you should have little problem sleeping even during a hot day, as the temperature drops substantially over nite, but a fan is a must if you are sleeping on the second floor and it is a hot day.

Thank you for your comments, we are glad you enjoyed your stay at Mountainside and in our wonderful valley. When you come to stay next time, be aware we do have air conditioning units you may rent for the week if the temperatures soar during your stay. An enjoyable vacation is also a comfortable one!

I have been coming to Fairmont annually since 1986. It is an ideal family vacation spot and the Villas have been like a second home for my whole family. We now have access to five weeks a year and usually combine them, spread them out or trade them for other locations through Interval International.

The word retreat in the title is on purpose - you do not come to Mountainside for the modern conveniences. No air conditioning (although temperatures regularly are over 30 in the summer), internet signal is weak at best - especially in the evening when I am sure everyone is downloading movies or watching netflicks!, and the whole place feels like something out of the 1960's in regards to the resort and its buildings. Now this is not a bad thing. Just realize this when coming here.

What attracts me to this place then? I like retreats! The golf, the hiking, the relaxation, the quiet, etc. I like things to be simple. That said...I also like a good nights sleep and when the rooms are so hot it is impossible.

There is enough in the valley to make this a worthy visit. The variety of golf, hiking trails, swimming, rafting on the Columbia, beaches, quaint towns and restaurants within 20 min drives all add to the ambiance of the area. The advertise 5 star but really closer to four but still worth the visit.

We have been coming out to Fairmont for the past 25 years. We now have 3 generations of our family that come out every July for a week. It is very peaceful and quiet in the villas, with a great rec centre for swimming, tennis, raquet ball, games, and more. The valley offers so much to do for all ages (golf, hiking, rafting, mini golf, hot springs, etc.) The units are older, but they are very clean, and are constantly being updated. They pretty much have everything you might need. There are newer timeshares in Fairmont, but Mountainside is by far the best to stay at.

We love the Fairmont mountainside villas. We are owners of golden time and have been coming here yearly since 1995. Very clean well kept villas. Beautiful recreation centre with swimming pool, and indoor and outdoor hot tubs. Work out room, squash and tennis courts also. Villas are located along the beautiful mountainside golf course. Fully furnished villas allow you to have the option of cooking or barbecuing. Lots of great restaurants in the area if you are wanting to let someone else do the cooking. Lots of space for 6 to sleep and your own washer and dryer in the unit. 2 tv's so the kids don't have to fight over what to watch, and a DVD player. All linen is supplied so no need to pack bedding. Fairmont Villas Mountainside offers you everything that you need to have a great time! Close to many activities in the Fairmont area, and the hot springs pools are close by. A short drive down the road to Invermere with many amenities including a lake with 2 beautiful beaches.
