We are a family of 4 (2 teenage children) and we thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and atmosphere at Mountainside resort. The townhouse style chalets are perfect for the forested mountain setting with all the amenities you can imagine. The recreation center is wonderful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The skiing and the hotsprings were an added bonus. I would recommend this resort to singles, families and retirees.

We spent 6 nights at the Fairmont Villas at Hillside. The villas were very clean and comfortable. A living room/ kitchen, no oven, though had a gas BBQ grill out on the porch. It had a dishwasher and a four burner stove. A/C, not central air , but did the job well. A ceiling fan in the living room and bedroom. Full sized Washer and dryer unit per two families. Not coin operated and they provided more than enough laundry soap for the two separate villa rooms. The rooms were spacious. The bathroom tub was hugh and also worked as a whirlpool. I was not disappointed at this resort and I am hard to please when it comes to hotels and condo resorts. The down side for us personally was that the resort villas were not near Lake Louise ,nor the Columbia ice fields. ( Glaciers ) Poor planning on my part. We were however very close to the Fairmont hot-springs pools which was a lot of fun. But most of all the scenery from the villas was wonderful. We would definitely stay there again either in winter or summer because the Panorama ski resort is just a few miles down the road. Thanks.

Our family of five adults stayed in the Fairmont Hot Springs Mountainside Resort June 16 to June 23, 2007 for a family reunion. Beautiful, woodsy place. We had two bedrooms with queen beds and a couch sleeper. It has a deck to sit on by the mountain river and falls. The loft should have had another couch instead of a table then it could sleep more people. Loved the place and it was well equipped and comfortable. It has 1 1/2 baths. Peaceful and surrounded by mountains, Columbia Lake is viewable and about 3 block away. They have a pool on property and a beautiful lodge. You may use the huge Fairmont Hot Springs pool also, for a price. We used the hot spring waterfalls nearby instead.

We flew into Calgary. It is about a 3 1/2 hour drive...beautiful drive. There is a neat hot springs falls not far up behind the resort to swim in...a once in a lifetime experience.

Everyone was friendly; place is well kept. I hope we can go again. I booked this through Interval International as a timeshare switch. Hotel hoppers should be aware that they do not clean daily; it is your home for a week, or days, if you prefer. It is a good place for all types of people that like beautiful surroundings. I should mention it is a golf resort. We are not golfers, but the golf scene did not ruin the beauty of the environment.

We used this as a base to tour Kootenay, Yoho, Banff and Jasper parks; this made for too much driving. If I were to do it again (which I hope I can), Kootenay is beautiful, more beautiful than Banff, as is Yoho. I would save Jasper as a separate trip, although it is can be done by staying up there one or two nights like we did. It is a 7 hour drive to Jasper town. Fairmont is just outside Kootenay. We saw bear, moose, elk, coyote, and eagles in Kootenay. Kootenay had the most wild life.

This is one of the best timeshares I have switched to! Thank-you Fairmont; keep up the good work!
