I enjoyed my stay at fairmont Hot Springs Resort, it felt like I made new friends there. The front desk when checking in were friendly and very a accommodating. Lindsay and Meghan that worked at the grill were fantastic and very pleasant, they were my favourites. I shopped at the pool side store for bathing suits, t-shirt etc.. And just loved Linda, she was just a hunny. We had a loft room and a regular room, the ladies that were cleaning (they were twins) were so sweet. Just a beautiful place to go and I will be back! Pools were nice and I liked that we had a private pool to go in when the public pool was to busy for my liking. There is Nothing about the resort I did not like

We had a stop planned during our RV Canada trip at Ainsworth hot springs but we found out a few days before it was going to be closed for pool/cave maintenance right at the time we would be there so we changed our routing based on other suggestions to Fairmont hot springs.

We arrived to the resort in our rented RV and the RV site was nice, although not all connections where placed in the right place to make it a full hook up, we decided to leave the sani dump disconnected and only connect it when needed. The site itself was nice and quite, we where placed in a area with no kids as we have none in our party of 4.

We went to the Spa/Sauna the next day and wanted to make a day out of it, as we usually do at home in the Netherlands. We expected a nice big indoor/outdoor pool (naturally heated) and some nice sauna's.
Getting entrance to the Sauna/Spa was a journey in itself. There weren't any real good signs that pointed us in the right directions. Finally we found a desk that pointed us to the Spa entry, there was another office, the lady there only could allow access to one of us who also wanted a massage which included a free Spa access. The other three of our party where directed to the gifs shop one door down the hallway (we found this to be a strange setup) to buy entrance passes for the same Spa. So we went down the stairs to come in a hotel hallway and found ourself looking for the Spa entry once again. We asked for the changing rooms and where directed to the restroom where in the back was a changingroom/shower.

After chaging to our swimwear we crossed the "hotel hallway" and found the entry to the Spa, which was a small hallway with a small bench and no secure storage facilities or any storage facilities at all for our clothes and towels. This area gave entrance to a small Hammam (which it is not, it's just a small steamroom, but the staff called it a Hammam), with lights I would hang in my garage, the steam has a odor of old pipes, we would add some nice mint odor to the steam, and all other Steamrooms we been to did it like that. Then there was a small dry Sauna where about 6 people could sit and about room for 3 to lay down, but there where no headrests to lay down comfortably. The sauna was operated by a timer outside so you had to wait for 15 minutes before it reached a good Sauna temperature. Then there where two small pools one cold and one hot, but the cold one was so cold it would hurt to sit in it any longer than a minute, which is ok for a dipping pool. But the other was way too hot to be comfortable for longer periods. There was no soothing music in these pools but the ventelation system was way too loud so you never could relax. Also there where no facilities to sit relaxed to read a book or something indoors.

Then we went to the outdoor pool which you reach through a hallway, the outdoor pool is a small round naturally heated pool of about 10-15 meter diameter which was dirty and smelled a bit like pee. The temperature was a bit better for longer periods but the smell will get to you fast.

There is also a big outdoor pool which is more of a public/childrens pool but this had a separate entrance fee and we expected more quite time and relaxation from the Spa pools.

What also was a disappointment was the fact there where no eating/drinking facilities except for a water fountain which didn't have any real cold water, like in the cold pool, coming out of it. So there was no way to sit and have some lunch/diner in a nice and quite environment, the only way was to get to the Lodge/resort restaurant which we didn't look for as that would mean leaving the Spa and get dressed again and then search for the Restaurant.
Also why not use the Hot Spring theme in the Spa make some nice rock waterfalls and let the water flow into a big interconnected indoor/outdoor pool maybe in a cave style setting. Make a nice relaxing bar/restaurant that is located in the Spa so you can put on a robe and enjoy a nice meal, smoothie, fresh fruit milkshake or a grilled cheese sandwich.

There weren't even showers in the Spa itself to shower off the sweat after the Sauna's. There was a tiny shower in the steamroom which litterally realeased 3 drops of water after you pressed a button, holding the button wouldn't help in any way, we tried.

After 30 minutes we where already annoyed by everything and we only lasted about 1,5 hours until we where really fed up with it and returned to the RV and enjoy a nice and quite book with all nature sounds surrounding us and some distant kids screams from the big pool which was no problem at all.
When we returned the key passes to the Spa I explained we where disappointed and the lady from the shop was a bit shocked I guess as she didn't know how to respond. And remained a bit quite after that, I don't think we are the only ones disappointed by this "Spa".

This Spa isn't even worthy of the name Spa, use the Hot Springs Theme make some nice pools and facilities and this will be a money making part of the resort.
The Spa is free to all Lodge/Hotel guests, but still we where almost the only ones who used it, one other couple also entered the Spa but they left after 15 minutes again.
If a "free" Spa (not for us as we where on the RV Park, so we actually paid to get into the Spa, free entrance is only to Lodge/Hotel guests and with other treatments like a massage) is almost empty on a Sunday than you'll have to ask yourself what you are doing wrong.
A Spa has to be a nice relaxing day out not an annoyance. Hopefully you will change this in the future so others will enjoy.

On the plus side the massage one of us had was great and the Spa was clean overall so that's why you got two out of five.

We were sorry to hear that your Fairmont Hot Springs Resort (FHSR) experience did not meet your expecations. More specifically it sounds like the Spa experience was the area that disappointed.
The FHSR Spa is actually about body treatments; facials, pedicures, manicures, massages, etc. and the pools, sauna and steam room really compliment those treatments or are used by the Lodge (hotel) guests. It seems as if you expected to use the non treatment facilities as 'the spa'. This disconnect seemed to cause the shrtfall in expectation for you and also confused the 'lady from the shop' as she generally books and registers guests for treatments.
We realise that the Spa may not be as comprehensive as some destination spas and have plans to expand this area at FHSR. Having said that the Spa does receive consistently high reviews from guests on their treatments. You did indicate one of your party enjoyed their treament.
We thank you for your detailed review of your visit to FHSR and will take your advice on the mint smell and the head rests.

We come to the mountains every May and always stay at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort. We LOVE this resort! This year was no different. The rooms are lovely, the beds are SO comfortable. The property is simply stunning. The hot springs (resort and public) are a real treat (tho this year I was a little disturbed by the fact that "20 somethings" kept jumping the fence to gain entry to the resort pool.....it's stated that alcohol is not permitted but year after year this is completely ignored (which normally is fine as we like a cold one in the hot pool but this time the crowd was young and obnoxious) O.K. this complaint aside, we love this spot and we will be back next May.

I took advantage of their Bed and Breakfast deal last night. I have noise senstivities and Chandra on the front desk really helped me find a quiet room in their old motel area and keep my good bed and breakfast rate. Thanks Chandra.

The fridge dial fell apart after the maintenance staff left at 4:30. It took a number of different staff trying to turn it off which finally happened. There just didn't seem to be anyone working who knew how to get the right tool to do the job.

The pools are clean.
The staff nice but I think we are at the start of the summer season and staff aren't trained yet.

I was enjoying a nice early morning soak today. It rained heaviy last so I am not sure why the lawn mower and weed eater had to start mowing between all two lodges and pool at 8 am.

Lawnmowers, weed eaters and leaf blowers are noise pollution devices. I believe this is a resort. Do people not try and enjoy some quiet when they wake up? How about mowing when people are travelling (say between 11 am check out and 4 pm check in) and the kids are screaming in the pools?

I spoke to a diversity of people at the front desk and the lawnmowing continued. I guess they have their idea of 'resort'. It's not my idea of a good time.

Chandra was the highlight of this visit. Also the ribs at the pub down on the highway. Great food down at the pub.

Room Tip: there are outside exhaust fans on the standard building so if you want to open the window and have n...

I meet up with my parents regularly at the hot Springs. Most of the time the rooms have been comfortable, but on one occasion we had a room that looked like it was done in the 70's-this was due to a lack of rooms (wedding party). My most recent visit had a nice room. The pools were great and we got an extra 1/2 hour in the hot tub which we appreciated.
There were people drinking in the hot tub-isn't that a health risk? Nobody went under from hypotension or inebriation, but it could happen...just sayin'.
Had a smoothie & latte for breakfast. It was good, reasonably priced and the staff were friendly.
There was a boiled water advisory so we were given bottled water-no big deal.
For me the highlight is the spectacular view of the mountains as you soak in a pool-really amazing.

Room Tip: I like a room with a view.

My 82 year old father and I were on a weeks journey of hot springs and golf, a little trip we dubbed our Triple E Adventure (Eric and Eric's Excellent Adventure)

Fairmont was our 3rd stop on the trek and our 2nd day of Hot Springs. We had found their great off season bed and breakfast deal on line, $129 per night for the room, full pool access and a full breakfast.

We arrived at the front counter and were checked in by Jolene who was wonderfully helpful and seemed to be truly enjoying her job!
The room was nice, typical style hotel room with 2 queen beds but the winning draw was the deck overlooking the extremely well kept grounds and pools. In addition to the outdoor pools, if you go inside there is a dry sauna and a steam sauna as well as a hot tub and a cold water plunge pool. After the 1st time or two I was actually starting to enjoy the plunge pool but oh my gosh was it .....er..chilly!!! One sure way to get your heart going!
The Fairmont does get a bit on the pricey side as we move into prime season but if you can hit an off season deal it is great value!
We stayed for 2 nights taking great pleasure in the pools, the golf course (there are 2) and of course just sitting on the deck drinking in the beauty of the day the location and perhaps a libation or two :-). Oh, I almost forgot, we also drove up to the Lussier Hot Springs which are a natural spring that has a series of rough rock pools stepping down to a river. The river was high and had flooded the lower pools but the hottest upper one was absolutely wonderful. I have never seen hot water so perfectly clear and the best part of Lussier is the price, free. Lussier is about a 45 minute drive from Fairmont.

Room Tip: I loved looking out on the grounds and the pools with views beyond to the majesty of nature.
