Owner description: We tell great stories. We can explain how Creston got its wacky time zone. We can tell you about the steamship that became a tractor (sort of), the first airplane to land in Creston, and the teacher who refused to be fired. Speaking of "great" stories, there's "The Great Railway Race" and the "Great Creston Bank Robbery." And have you heard the one about the imaginary student in Grade Thirteen? Really, we're not making this up. Why would we? Truth is so much better than fiction. We can even help you tell the greatest story of all: your own. So come on in. After all, there's no time like the present to discover the past.

so much to see and absorb! relics of a bygone era are everywhere, funny thing is, is that you can take one of these relics and go out and use it! great history of the town and surrounding area.
the staff is absolutely wonderful and full of knowledge. the little gift shop will have you spending all your change on rock candy and pretty rocks (from the local rock hound club).
there are other kid attractions like the 'train room' and the summer museum kids day is loads of fun.
quilt shows are held as well so local talent is showcased.
the best part is the old newspapers and clippings, you will find yourself saying 'the more things change, the more things stay the same!'
highly recommend a visit, it is a local heritage museum in an agricultural valley...you just might want to stay for a very long time!

showing old style cottage and items from the last 100 years. Inexpensive and worthwhile. I recommend.

Our guide was most helpful, too bad I had to rush. Beautiful museum, originally builtas the beginnings to be someone's castle. Main museum with lots to see, school house, trappers cabin, farming implements, and hall. All lovely.
