“Not much of a museum”
Review of Musee au Chocolat

Musee au Chocolat
Ranked #3 of 20 things to do in Bromont

It's a misnomer to be called a museum when there are hardly any exhibit. No real people around to explain nor show the uses of the equipment. It's more a gallery of chocolate memorabilia with a store which carries mostly per packaged chocolate you can get any where & not true hand made artisanal gourmet chocolate. Not worth a trip.

The musuem gives you an idea of the chocolat history and has chocolat pieces that are lovely.

I would though have expected to find more "local" selections of chocolate then all those imported chocolats.

The "Museum" aspect is found in 2 rooms explaining the history of chocolate and how it is produced. Mostly, the place is a shop with a huge range of chocolate products and a cafe in the back. The atmosphere is pleasant and animated. There seems a full menu (unconnected to chocolate). All we wanted was a hot chocolate - which was DELICIOUS!

The location is great, in the heart of the old village of Bromont, which is a charming district.

Friendly and a great selection. The staff are very nice. They also serve lunch but we had eaten down the street. The menu is fairly simple.

It was OK, nothing special. Cute, but expensive shop that sold everything including mustard, salt and pepper... oh and chocolate, too.
